Why bother? The universe is a big place. Big enough for everybody. If there are aliens advanced and powerful enough to know about us and to be able to do away with us, then we are inconsequential to them. Do you stomp on every ant hill you see?

Besides. There are no aliens. It's just a fantasy. We are alone in the universe, so there's nothing to worry about.

That's true. I guess I assume because we have been around for so long and still lack the ability to cross vast space. If other lifeforms are able to do this, I'd assume they would be older, and have had a working civilization for longer than our civilization has been around.

Perhaps they are more like kids who have discovered they can use their dad's keys to operate a vehicle and travel to the local park.. :-)
