GTA 5 coming soon! Cant wait.

Anyone who loves grand theft auto as much as me can jump in to this thread to discuss the release of the long hoped for GTA 5. It seems to be in response to how well GTA San Andreas is doing as of this year compared to how well GTA 4 is doing with fans. Granted GTA 4 did have better graphics but it wasn't the same free roaming, fighter jet flying, train jacking, para sailing, jet pack steeling, thrill ride GTA San Andreas was. Recently Rockstar Games has confirmed a release date set for September 17, 2013.

Rockstar Games has allot of hopes for GTA 5 like wanting to have the biggest video game map to date and making it as popular as GTA San Andreas turned out to be. Thats going to be tough considering there is allot of video games out there that have already made maps larger than GTA San Andreas. Just Cause 1 & 2 are good examples of having considerably larger maps compared to GTA San Andreas. The maps of Skyrim and World of Warcraft are going to be tough to beat as well.

Now as for what the new GTA will have is considerably more than GTA 4 had. It will have the return of airplanes and other vehicles seen in GTA San Andreas. My hope is that there will be allot more military weapons and vehicles in GTA 5. I also hope they bring back some weapons that GTA San Andreas had like the Mini gun(my personal favorite) C4 explosives and the lock on rocket launcher. As for the map they plan on only having one major city (Las Santos) and they plan on dropping Las Venturas and San Fierro to have allot of wasted space (in my opinion). They will have a map bigger than GTA SA but what else will it have besides what they have told us?

damn sept 17th? That's kind of a long time away. And yeah, I can't wait either!

The map is not only bigger than GTA SA, but it is bigger than GTA SA, GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption combined.

GTA V map news

Pretty sure you've read it though. I think Rockstar will add in everything into this game, every single thing. Also, I'm pretty sure Rockstar will add things that we saw in GTA SA, into GTA V. By that, I mean.. You could be walking along in GTA V and you'll hear someone speaking about the 'Grove Street families' or the massive war that broke out after Officer Tenpenny was released, just things like that. We might even see a character from San Andrea's in a mission. Can't wait for it though. It'll be brilliant. And last, but not least.. I use to love reading up on the conspiracies on San Andrea's

These GTA games are my top favorites!!!!!!

You know what I love to do when I'm bored and been done with the game for a while?
I like to go "FISHING."

I get the cheat codes for weapons & life regenerate, then I'm off.

I spawn a copter.
I head to a big freighter boat that I can drive.
I park the boat close to the coastline where cars travel past.
I stop the boat and get on the roof of the captain's deck.
Then I get my stars up to 6 by killing whatever I can.....

Now comes the fun.

When the police come full force, I try to land the blasted copters nearby so police bodies float nearby the boat. I also grenade cops on the shore to get the m close by the boat too.

Once in the water.... I grenade the dead cops in water to blow up and fall into the boat.

Dead cops blown out of the water into the boat..... fishing!
I also try to aim cops into the boat from the 2 choppers that come by every few mins.

That's a good challenge.... and good times! Fun for the whole family after the game is spent.

I'm happy we get planes again, and there'll be random events like in Red Dead Redemption which will be great.

Don't forget that the map size probably takes in to account the ocean floor, and maybe buildings that you can enter. It's still going to be big, but probably not as big as that makes it sound.

Ah yes, true, true.

I absolutely hate that the story is divided between three main protaganists. I like to play one character and build the story around him.

This jumping back and forth seems like a failed attempt to differentiate it from their other games. Just the other additions would have been enough to make this the best game yet so I don't know why they felt the need to break up the story with three lead characters.

Seems like it won't give you the chance to get attached to any of them.

What I really hope is that it's a solid one player game and they don't try and make it online multi player with a one player game tacked on

Would also be nice if they sell us the whole game from day 1 and don't try selling it to us over the course of a year with expansion packs of stuff they could have included in the first place

Man I'm gonna have so much fun eloping the sea in the sub marine.
There good evidence that there could be snow mobiles for up in the snow capped mountains and wildlife in the forests will be ripe for the hunting(hopefully).

It's between 3 protags because its unrealistic for a one man army to take on an entire city alone and do all the things (let's say Niko) has done.
Plus you can have one guy drive and be the guy shooting.
The possibilties are pretty endless if you think about it.
Then there's the chance to cause chaos as a three man army during freeroaming.

Yeah, good ones that are proper expansions.

I hope they have better riot vehicles like an APC with a 25mm gun mounted on it. It would be a good replacement for the Rhino if Rocstar Games can't make a tank with actual tank tracks. That seems to be one thing i noticed in the older GTA games like 3 and SA. When the first gen Rhino tank came out it looked like a ww2 Patton tank with wheels instead of treads. its like a lazy way of making a tank for a video game. Just Cause 2 did the same thing with their tanks. they just used their version of an APC. The old mercenaries video game had no trouble making tanks with actual tank treads and that game was made way back when the PS2 was the new thing. Imagine if they were to have a realistic M1 Abrams tank in the new GTA. You would only go around 45 to 50 mph and acceleration would suck but you would have a large cannon maybe a machine gun and the ability to crush cars to a pulp which is what i had always dreamed of doing in the new generation GTA games.

Yes, playing an unrealistic video game is......well, unthinkable.

Regardless of what Rockstar games does with GTA 5, I'm preordering my copy ASAP. Just the fact that it's going to be more like GTA SA but with HD graphics is enough for me to want it. It's what I have been waiting for sense GTA SA. GTA SA had allot in it, but the graphics were horrible compared to other games at the time.

I didn't make that up, it's really what they have came out with.

I understand there's a fine line between realism and fun (filling up with gas would become so tedious).

Having 3 characters is going to be a touch of both, realistic and fun.

I just hope we can meet our other 2 characters while out and about freeroaming, if we can't bump into them in game world (it has been said that when you switch, you see a zoomed out map and the location of the other characters) then we best be able to call them up for a 3 man chaos adventure.
