The WHO also states that malnutrition is by far the biggest contributor to child mortality, present in half of all cases. Undernutrition is a contributory factor in the death of 2.6 million children dying (of hunger) every year. Figures on actual starvation are difficult to come by, but according to the FAO, the less severe condition of undernourishment currently affects about 925 million people, or about 14% of the world population.

Greed equates to excessive selfishness, a constant yearning for more than you have, typically with no regard for others or thought about the consequences of your choices.
Hoarding, refusing to share, withholding information and not using your gifts for the betterment of society can all be deemed forms of greed.
Greed is a form of sickness because those who suffer from greed seem deprived of morality.
