It provides no reason why we needed to 'shock and awe' a Pakistani neighborhood with a SEAL team choppered in to 'get' Osama. He was hunkered down. Seems like the easy target for a missile.

It wouldn't make a very exciting news story if they had whacked him with a missile, would it?
And movie about it would be down right boring, eh?

They didn't use bombs & missiles because there were a number of wives and children living in the house.

That's not just a black African son in the White HOuse, it is also an Arab son in the White House. Thus, we would expect especially Arabs to be getting off about the symbology, especially hyper-locals such as Wahhabists (Salafists) on the Nejd Plateau. Since Qutb the Salafist also attended the College of Education in Colorado, there's really quite a crowd gathering round the Wahhabist's traditional modus operandi of giving young men guns, in Chechnya, for example (It's that really tiny place, just keep going past the Black Sea).
