President Ahmadinejad was not attacked.

Very misleading news story.

Should be trashed.

Read entire OP and you will see the progression of the story from assault to shoe

oh and by the way, they changed Story title again:

"Syrian arrested after Ahmadinejad shoe-attack in Cairo"

Now imagine if this story had been of a more critical nature, just shows to be ever critical of news reports, especially unsubstantiated ones..

I wonder if it was a Syrian that supported FSA and disliked Ahmadinijead or a Syrian displeased that the Iranians haven't helped against the rebels enough despite having an agreement that they back each other.

OR of course something else all together.

I wonder...

Could this trip to Egypt have something to do with Egypt passing off some type of deal from the US?

As for this attack, if it had of been Israel or the US wanting this guy dead, my bet is he would be dead.

I still think that they will wait for him to make his first trip to space before wacking him

to the moon Alice

they would not find any.... so now you want Iran to invade Syria....

Michael.. Slay... Doc...

I'm really worried about the last extrapollution (n. hypothetical scenario
involving some variety of olefactory grossout)
of MOSSAD making some guy wear
a shoe long enough to make the damned thing a weapon of mass repulsion --
but we did have our Richard Reed moment already, i 'member d' memo.
.Besides NATO is in the tank with trying to stir the pot over there, they blew
their 'cover' better than if Nugent sneezed in Dez's bathtub God help us on
THAT thread. "They fried with their hats on".. and Organ Morgan got to poke
the wishbone on Mr. Big Square Britches. Idunno a .50 is a mitful with cork
in front of the fizz, much less some copper jackets to save the bore. Jeez
Last digression, sorry.
Back to unreality-- if there's any self policing being done over there, it seems
evident, lately anyway the general pop is getting the idea that outside influences
should be made more unwelcome, and are helping out the homies. Good on them.
Or just maybe the mainstream is getting recently shamed into covering some
real news instead of youknow.
Trust me sis is an LPN and has three TV's at last count. I think the coffeemaker
hung under the kitchen sink is soldered to either The View or Generic Hospital...
I have to get out of there after about 25 minutes I start skipping punctuation
REMIND you of someone? I love him too. But this lone wolf doesn't look any
more politically motivated than she is, maybe less. But PO'd, who wouldn't be?

A flag and star for you, and the irony afterward leaves me relieved
at least. I was expecting from the title that Big Mahmoud got an
early Easter Basket and we were going over the falls very soon.
I won't even need to go to RT unless Tarpley is talking about the
Wall Street sales tax (dream away) because it's harmless and
unlikely as my hitting the lottery.. haven't played since 1975.
For the most part I will commend you for being on top of this, but
like I said the title was making me go for the nitro pills. Then again
Max Kaiser can get away with calling for "Hang - A - Banker Week".
Almost dyslexia'd the thing into SYRIA OMG the whole country got im!

Gotta go over to the geriatric dating site now and get frustrated twice..

Iran is the ally of the minority shia government in Syria. I don't know if you have heard, but there is a civil war in Syria between Shiites and Sunnis. The Shiites are supported by Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia. The Sunnis are supported by Al Qaida, the United States, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and others.

I bet he threw his shoe at him.

It appears I was spot on

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was forced to flee a mosque on a state visit to Egypt when a protester took off his shoes and threw them at him, it emerged today.

not very adequate. Salafism and Wahabism (ideologies of Al_Qaeda and Taliban) may be considered parts of Sunni.
but this is not true. the Wahabi Saudi tribe in Saudi Arabia the mother of Al_Qaeda is not respected by the people of middle east. of course democracy is not in Syria. the same as it is not in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and .....
but I should point to that even if you think it is repeated. that hell has nothing to do with religion the same that Crusades had nothing to do ! but POWER !!
again the war is between friends of ISRAEL and enemies of ISRAEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but media do not cover that.

Looks like a bit more information has been released

Three Egyptians and a Syrian were arrested for trying to attack Iranian President Ahmadinejad in front of Al-Hussein mosque in Cairo. The leader is in the Egyptian capital on a visit.

A video shot by a Turkish cameraman shows a young man shouting at Ahmadinejad and trying to hit the president's head with a shoe, instead striking one of his bodyguards.

Security sources told Reuters that the three Egyptians were all members of al-Gamaa al-Islamiya, a hardline Islamist group.

The four men were detained on suspicion of trying to attack the President, the security sources said. The men were held overnight but released on bail of 500 Egyptian pounds ($75) each on Wednesday.

The Syrian attacker was heard chanting anti-Iranian slogans for supporting the Syrian government, Turkey's Anatolia news agency reported.

Video at source as well of the attempted shoe throwing

Not to sure what conclusions we can draw from this update. Just seems like a upset political/religious activist if you ask me and nothing broader or more nefarious is afoot.

Thanks all for participating.

It's all a smokescreen to divert attention away from the true importance of the Iranian president's visit.

He has claimed that Iran already has nuclear capabilities, that Iran has no intentions of attacking Israel, but they are prepared to destroy Israel if they attack Iran. They need to be sure that the Egyptian leadership (Muslim Brotherhood) are on the side of Muslims and with Iran if there is conflict with Israel.

Assad in Syria is considering retaliations on Israel, and that could spark a regional conflict that would unite these Muslim countries against Israel... The USA could be drawn into this, and from there it all could get really bad really quick. The rebels in Syria would likely unite with the Syrian army if there is war with Israel... The one thing that could unite these Muslim sects, is a war with Israel...

There is much more.

More going on here, don't miss it... It could all sneak up on you in a hurry.

Good luck.

Iran is the ally of Assad who is the hereditary dictator of Syria.

Some Syrians actually have some good reasons not to like Assad.

This makes me happy. Not only is it funny 'cause he almost got hit by a shoe, but If people gotta hate each other it's better that they don't hate my country. Next time I hope it gets even more ridiculous; "world leader attacked with big black dildo."

Seriously? You think that President Cheney would have been far better than little W. I think Cheney would have been a far more murderous, cold, and calculating president than jr.

It wont happen.

Iran is Shia, the Muslim Brotherhood and most of the Egyptian population are Sunni. The only thing extreme muslims hate more than other religions, is other sects of Islam within their own religion.

Syria and Iran are the only majority Shia muslims in North Africa, Middle East, South Asia. The remainder are predominately Sunni.
