And for those of us who are not able to watch videos?

I particularly enjoyed your opinion on this, written with such clarity...

No worries,my friend. The video had even less explanation than the OP.Just stock footage set to cheesy music.Doesn't belong in this forum.

Stock footage? LOL

All the footage in the video is from January 2013.
Every coronal mass ejection, ripped filament, solar flare
and giant moving lump is from 2013.

And the effect on Mercury is also from 2013,
this has been a pretty awesome build up to solar maximum.

So yes. I think it belongs in the Space Exploration forum,
SNIP

Sun's 2013 Solar Storm Peak Expected to Hit Century Low

Source

"It's likely to be the lowest solar maximum, as measured by sunspot 'number,' in more than a century," wrote Joe Gurman, a project scientist for NASA's sun-observing mission Stereo, or Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory. The current sun weather cycle is known as Solar Cycle 24

This article is from Jan 2013 and says just the opposite, that the solar activity for this cycle (24) has been subdued. There's nothing abnormal in that video in the OP. There are several websites and youtube channels that cover the sun on a daily basis and all of them have been reporting lower than normal activity for a maximum cycle.

All right.Perhaps I may have used the wrong word.My bad.Point is,there was nothing in the video to explain what we were watching. Not everyone on ATS has a higher education. All I saw was a bunch of pretty pictures set to music. As for the remark about me being cynical.Guilty as charged.
Have a nice day.
