On a serious note, it probably started as a mating ritual and over time extended into something they enjoyed doing. Just a guess.

Absolutely great post, I wanted to post something like it.

This is a conspiracy, because the mainstream Ego as I call it does not want to tell the truth to the world.

This word should get out - most birds do not sing to attract mates as the general public thinks. The researchers probably picked a place like the amazon to study wild exotic birds and released a general finding.

But most of the birds singing are females, so we know it is not what the theory says that males are singing for a mate.

The funny truth is that birds have personalities and feelings and singing is a way of communicating them.
