The following is a artical about Australian ties to a death squad in West Papua ,Indonesia. The links to this squad Detachment 88 have in not been denied by the goverment. The squad is supplied and trained by the Australian Federal Police They also recieve extensive other operational support.

This is reported by two reporters from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation,Hayden Cooper and Lisa Main.
Included are witness reports of the assassination of a leader (Mako Tabuni) of the separatist movement with video of the attack.Warning some part's of the video while not graphic,do show the after effects of the assassination.

Are all goverments now condoning these types of actions. Why are not all such actions made world news?I had to stumble across this. Why isn't this all over.

The killing by police left parts of the city in smoking ruins after riots broke out in protest. At his funeral, thousands mourned Mako Tabuni. His successor knows that he too is now in the firing line.

Does this shock you? Surprise you?

Australia would have links all over the world to naughty and nasty things.

Corrupt governments and their leaders need to be brought down. They need to be stopped.

Sounds a lot like the story in the OP.

Errr, the ADF & AFP have training programs extend beyond the Australian shores for years, more so around the Aust-Indo region(s).

Hell the ADF have US Troops, and FBI agents. One of the main tasks for Australian troops in Afghanistan is training their new military.

For further information read this wiki article.

However in saying that, you want to make a connection to the ADF after the fact? The ADF provides on going training to the Indonesian military force(s), does this mean they are responsible for any crimes committed by those they have trained? No, if that was the case it would be akin to blaming a tool manufacturer for the build of a faulty car, the ADF supplies the tools (training) as apart of their treaties.

What concerns me is the fact that the Australian troops are "alledgedly" taking out seperatist leaders instead of supporting the seperatist movement and trying to make a United Papua which would have far greater geo-political benefit to Australia and possibly economically aswell rather than trying to appease the Indonesians.

Australia and Australians should be fully supporting the reunification of Papua New Gunea in my opnion as we did East Timor....

watch for West Timor becoming another battlefield in the future...
