This thread is as tasteless as that flyer.

1) It is a really old joke, never considered in good taste not even when it was started in the early 90s. But its one of those "lets adapt it to the current situation" jokes ( I use this term really loosely).; and

2) It is in the worst possible taste - how would you feel if your child/relative was intellectually handicapped, do you laugh at him, or think its hilarious? I don't think so its a tragedy - but hey lets use derogatory terms for black or homosexual and laugh. But wait they can stand up for themselves so its not ok to insult them. Lets pick on those who have been tragically handicapped and who can't defend their right to live.

Honestly all those laughing at this "joke" are the real jokes.

I don�t find retarded children funny at all. I don�t find any disability remotely amusing.

My laughter was aimed at the lengths politicians will go to influence the vote.

I think it's a tremendous insult to the mentally handicapped to align them with Bush Republicans in any way.

This looks like typical Rove tactic fodder.

The controversy over these tasteless flyers has been going on for weeks now. It seems to have started in Tennessee when they were found in the trash of Democratic Rep. Craig Fitzhugh. He said that he had nothing to do with the flyers and didn't know how they wound up in the trash, which is also the office of the local Democratic headquarters.

In an odd coincidence, a worker in the offices of of his Republican opponent (apparently they employ the homeless) was searching the garbage outside his offices and found the flyers. This guy immediately went to the Republican headquarters, contacted the media and distributed the flyer on the Internet, claiming that Fitzhugh and the Dems are smearing the Special Olympics and children.

The Dems suspect that the Republicans made the flyers themselves and while Dave Dahl, Fitzhugh's Republican challenger agrees that Fitzhugh was not involved in making the flyers, he still was involved in publicizing the fact that they were found in the trash outside the Democratic offices.

It's all Bush's fault!

It isn't Bush's fault Cheney made him do it. Maybe THAT's why he left for Hawaii Thats the second commonality throughout all political theads.

BUT we can definitely be sure that Kerry didn't do it, it requires him being present and achieving something, and also there is no medal to be gained from doing it.

I find this statement laughable considering the Bush administration has been pumping out warning after warning about new terrorist strikes leading up to the elections and is now basing their re-election charge on �protecting� America from the �terrorists�.

Seeing that this flyer is being distributed across several CONSERVATIVE sites, it too, is not very credible. So, I challenge this.. what would be a proper poli-humor piece done in such a manner that would not be considered slanted nor from a bias/non-credible site?
