Over the last several weeks, China has seen a new leader take charge. The media has done the usual song and dance. They some OK things. Talk about how he lived in Iowa for awhile. All very nice nice. What they are not telling you is that he and his generals have made increasingly tough remarks. They talk about preparing for war. They talk about claiming huge chunks of the South China Sea. They seem to want to do some pretty scary things. The media does not say much about it, but China is on the march...

Everyone likes to talk about China’s new weapons systems and what a threat they can be. I don’t discount them at all, but have noticed only a few articles on how China is also ramping up their logistical support forces as well. On a massive scale.

China is rectifying this past oversight. They have just test flown the Y-20, a C-17 type aircraft and are also refurbishing transport planes and ships as well.

You can’t fight a war without logistical support. And their logistical support is now getting a longer reach.

They aren't the only ones gearing up, think they got something planned?

North Korea has allegedly been placed under martial law and its ruler Kim Jong-un has ordered the army to “prepare for war”, a South Korean daily claims.
The North Korean leader issued a series of orders to his top defense and security officials on Saturday to conclude preparations for a new nuclear test, the Seoul based Korea JoongAng Daily alleges citing an unnamed source.

The source reportedly said that Kim Jong-un issued a secret order to “complete preparations for a nuclear weapons test and carry it out soon”.

According to the source, Kim Jong-un also said, “The country will be under martial law starting from midnight January 29th and all the frontline and central units should be ready for war.”

The source told the South Korean daily that the nuclear test could come earlier than expected. Other analysts have said it would likely be held on February 16th, the birthday of the former leader Kim Jong-il, who died in 2011.

Given there have been (over the past) several comments about China invading various countries and/or posturing, i'd suggest there is little more than just rumor, i believe there was a comment from a Chinese general stating they would invade Australia because there was excess and unused land here (for the most part not habitable). This so called threat was laughed off (given an invasion of Australia would be costly and a logistical nightmare, not including the local population would rise up).

Take a look at the world map, centered around the Chinese boarders, their best option would be North Korea, as this could be done under the guise of liberation and restoration of civil liberties.

Invading India would be a strategic nightmare, given their holding on the country would be dependence on Pakistan's cooperation (then an overflow effect from the Middle East, this would give them a new common enemy). Leaving the northern countries, which border Russia, invading these would anger the Russians resulting in strained relationships.

They could invade Japan, however given that countries ability to miniaturize things it wouldn't surprise me if China's military was met with a bunch of guys and gals kitted to the eyeballs with exo-skeletons, and laser rifles (giving China a very wide technological disadvantage), and of course the US would have kittens.

tl;dr - North Korea would be its 'first strike' given its a soft target, the local population would welcome the Peoples lib army with open arms, and their military would just let them invade, because of the promise of being able to move from their current 'world' status.

All of the above is an opinion based on my own thoughts and conclusions.
