What Movie Was About The Lone Shooter Myth - in 1990s or early 2000s

Does anyone remember - maybe with Tim Robbins or Jeff Bridges? Maybe he's a teacher talking about conspiracies and how he doesn't t believe in the lone shooter theories. It ended with the scene where the son is being driven away in someone else's car looking back and knowing that his father had been innocent and he's looking out the back of a car rear window.

I'm hoping somebody knows which film I'm talking about?
