I've always been very curious and always wanted to know, is there a way for an adversary to place a tracking device or something like that on one of
these things as its getting built? And its always off unless they get a signal or some kind of radio signal when they are at war?

Sorry Laxpla,
But I find this to be very funny.
If you were on a Navy ship and dialed a cell phone and then hit
Send...how long do you think it would take for someone on board to
electronically notice it??
How about from intelligence aircraft flying overhead..or other nearby ship..would they notice it?
This is not gear one gets from Radio Shack...and not all of this gear is on the carrier. Other Navy ships also have this type of gear.
A Navy ship is a beautiful tool for sucking signals out of the air..recording this and then sending it off via a satellite or other overhead aircraft
to somewhere that this information's can be deciphered and put to use. This means out at sea or even sitting in foreign ports of call.
Another thing you need to know ..outside of what they feed you on television and in movies....we spy on our friends as well as our enemies. There are
no good guys in this business.
This even today includes the American people themselves on whom our government also spies.
I haven't read a Clancy book in years now...does he cover this topic to help people learn to think outside the box.
Or is he still playing good cop/ bad cop...good guys and bad guys??
Another thing to think about..such a remote operated device ..turned on by a remote signal. Under the construction of a ship...there are so many stray
signals running about from construction people with walkie talkie, and cell phones etc. Also when doing alot of welding during construction..there are
so many wire feed welding machines going on ..also carbon Arc ..electric cutting machines. Tig welders too.
All these electric welding machines put out a significant energy field when being used. Under Construction is not the proper time or place to be
putting such electronic gadgets on board.
You will also see signs on board a ship..not to run welding lines in a specific proximity to certain computer areas because of the energy fields
generated by these welding processes.
Hope this helps with your question.
