Simply stated - this thread is the machinations of a bloviating socialist who advocates for society living how HE wants, not how we are guaranteed.

Who is the enemy? YOU ARE! As is anyone who would seek to restrict my freedom to choose the life I want to live.

This country has achieved greatness through our founding principles and I'm not prepared to sacrifice them to appease some pansy-ass like you who is afraid of their own shadow!

The very simple and straight forward laws of the land are not good enough for you and you want them changed by force if need be.

By force? Where have I advocated using force to pass gun control laws?

I want the politicians to Constitutionally enact legislation for more gun control...and so does the majority of the public.

If protesting the government to use the means the Constitution gives us to pass laws is "radical"...well then yes....you may call me a radical.

And I will continue to call those who's solution is to shoot people if they don't get their way "radicals".

Very nice trick trying to play those that want to defend the Constitution as unreasonable fearmongers hell bent on revolt. Your point is structured in such a way that should anyone disagree with your lofty "communitarian" position, they must be "the bad guys". Nice try, but fail to those that can see through it.

Even IF the majority of people wanted firearm restrictions (which is a twisted poll btw), this is the reason we are a Constitutional Republic and Nomocracy (the rule of law). Our system of governance is based on the rights and the laws being equally applied to the many, the few and even the one. This is why we cannot have a total democracy...aka...mob rules. When 51% think they have the right to dictate to the 49%, society will collapse.

As Aristotle so wisely stated thousands of years ago...

In the end, as before, the US Supreme Court will defend the Constitution...that is what they are there for.

But the methods they've covered will not do anything to reduce violence!

Look at the statistics! These weapons they want to use are used in only a fraction of violent gun crimes!

This doesn't even account for the illegally owned weapons that are secured from Mexico.
What I don't understand is why this claim for reducing violence but not actually targetting the over all used weapons which are hand guns and instead attacking something that just looks scary but is rarely used in crimes.

And no! They are not talking about an outright ban. For the moment! But wait until the next shooting proves that their AWB doesn't work. What happens then? We'll know why they want a current registered database.

The only reason you want that is to make it easier to confiscate them. It's steps of progression. They banned Assault Weapons in 1985 and Grandfathered pre-ban arms into registration and now they are impossible to get. They'll go after the Semi-Auto Rifles now. Next time it will be handguns. After that it will be bolt shot rifles, shotguns and revolvers.

All we'll have by the time they're done is an Remington Hunting Rifle that requires an extensive background check and permit registration system that costs more time and money than what the gun itself is worth.

I know the exact difference and it ultimately doesn't matter. There's no proof that those polls are actually randomized. Let me break it down for you. There are these things called demographics. They know the general political leanings on the areas they call. That said, they can call any number from those areas and get the answer that they will expect.

What do you think would happen if they heavilly polled people in the south? I guarantee those numbers on your "scientific polls" would be more along the lines of 9/10 americans do not favor further restrictions. And before you call me a nut job conspiracy theorist. I've studied, psychology and numerous other scientific pursuits. I know how the game works when someone does research.

They also never have to publish results they didn't like. Note that you quoted liberal sources. So who are you to knock fox news as a source? The only difference in their validity is that you don't agree with their politics.

This country was built on Decieving, Pilliging and Plundering. Our FORE Fathers were TERRORISTS. We Left EUROPE for the same problems that are "Suprise" happening again.... Only this time there's not another continent we can sail the Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria too.

What about how the old revolutions started? Was it overnight? Or was it like a "Turd" Rolling down a hill gaining speed as it picked up pebbles on the way down.

I've worked in DC and saw the protest marching on a Daily basis... Looking accross the street in another high rise I see a politician laughing and closing his blinds.

Ways to keep the Sheeple occupied so they can have their way, with whatever they want.

The only time something fails is when we let it fail. The only time failure is an opponent is when you've doubted yourself and your own personal knowledge or ability as a human.

Do I agree violence is the answer? NO~ but i'm not seeing any other way at this point. And when the rest of the United States Citizens stand like they have in the past, I will stand as well. Till then play it safe, stay under radar and make me some COookieS!

And if the government were pushing for more guns on the streets, the poll would favour that also. How people can use a piece of media propaganda to justify Gun control bewilders me. Who did they actually poll? Do they tell you that?

I really can't have a discussion with someone who continues to deny the accuracy of polls.

But it ok for Government soldiers to kick peoples doors in during a disaster and man handle eldery women? Who are the idiots again? If it isn't the "dictatorial government" coming to get you, it is the theifs, or if you are a women it's the rapists around every corner out to get you, or maybe it is a mob after an earthquake, and then there is always the zombies to worry about, or maybe China is going to invade us...no no...not with nukes, subs, tanks, or jets...but Red Dawn style with paratroopers, or maybe the aliens...all the gun owners will save us from the aliens for sure. And then you start talking about killing your own countrymen. A SWAT member doing his job because you are purchasing/selling guns illegally, maybe a politician here or there because they want to Constitutionally enact laws that will hopefully make our country safer, or maybe that neighbor who had an Obama sign in his lawn...it's all his fault.

Paranoid delusions are a dangerous thing, guns don't scare me, it's the paranoid crack pots that own them and their justification (fantasies) that scare me.

Liberals generally believe in fairy tales. They think up feel good laws that sound good to them while never considering the long term unintended consequences. America will not be truly free without the Second Amendment. Less than 400 people died in America in 2011 from a rifle. The talk of gun control has law abiding citizens in a gun buying frenzy. (probably good for the economy) Gangs run rampant and even have their own TV show. They WILL have guns, They WILL kill you. The attempt to disarm America has nothing whatsoever to do with saving lives. Liberals think the population is too high anyway. This is purely part of a plan to install Socialism in America. He was quoting something that actually happened, Xeno.

During hurricane Katrina, a joint force of the National Guard and the local police forces there began to confiscate fire arms. They didn't even knock on the door of a 60+ year old woman. They kicked in her door, slammed her to the ground and then took her six shot revolver without even asking for her to hand it over. Then they left. Leaving her with no form of protection at all. Since they had just destroyed both her front door and taken the gun she could have needed.

It's not paranoid fantasies. It's proof that the only thing the government worries about is being the only one with the guns.
