Citizens of Mexico Arm Themselves Against Violent Crime

Here is another great example of why Americans need to continue standing up for their right to bear arms...

Despite guns being illegal in Mexico, the growing amounts of violence have prompted farmers and locals in rural areas to arm themselves against these increasingly brutal attacks by drug lords and gang members - some of whom are probably using U.S. weaponry from the Fast and Furious scandal...

While the argument that American citizens will take up arms against its government, or create militias to patrol unsafe streets seems like something out of a science fiction novel, but Mexican citizens in small towns in Mexico are doing exactly that.

The people have banded together to take back their towns in the municipalities of Tecoanapa and Ayutla de Los Libres.

I think this is awesome and should be continued by the people of Mexico. People of the world are surely sick and tired of being told what to do by unjust "Governments."

The Mexican paper, El Universal, reports that in Ayutla de los Libres, the town has voted to continue civil resistance despite warnings from State officials who have warned them that this type of self-defense acts are violent acts and against the law. But the people in Ayutla believe they have a right to arm themselves and take matters into their own hands.

I think it's time to start taking matters into our own hands, especially if/or when a collapse of the system happens.

The people of these towns, in La Costa Chica de Guerrero, in western Mexico, have given their support to their community police and volunteers armed with hunting rifles, small caliber handguns and machetes. They have created roadblocks and are patrolling the streets.

Do you support the people of Mexico for doing this?

Guns and Control? You'll find plenty of both down there.

Heck yea I support this. Standing up for what is right is a very noble cause and if the government isn't going to stop these cartels (mostly because it can't) then these people are in the right to defend themselves. I think it is sick that the government is trying to denounce this as violence and illegal. So these people are supposed to just roll over and die when a cartel member rolls into town and starts lighting up the place? You may be dead, but at least you didn't break the law. PATOOEY on that nonsense!

The corruption is so deep in nearly every country that we have to stick up for ourselves, or forever be slaves to the system.

The Cartels have so much money that they just bribe all of the police and military forces. Fight The Power!

And thus, is disproven, the notion that citizens will not stand up and fight, if the have the means to.

As I have heard people on this forum, and many other, say that the population will just roll over if true tyranny does take over.

Mexico does have the right to bear arms in their founding documents. All though, they have had that right striped away to the point that it is just a shadow of it’s true self. Even with those heavy restrictions, they still have the arms needed to stand up and fight the forces that are killing them.

Even with the fact that most of them have single shot shotguns, and 22 rifles, they are still standing their ground. Think of the force they would be, if they had open access to a full selection of arms.

And remember, all smuggling isn’t always the bad guys. The thing the media hasn’t reported much of, is a lot of the illegal US to mexico gun smuggling was that people in the US were buying and sending guns down to their Mexican relatives. To help them defend themselves because the Mexican gun laws made it too hard for the law abiding people to get a gun.

The cartels did not really need any guns from the US because they get most of their weapons from china, and the like.

So, a lot of those guns you see in those pics are guns that were smuggled from the US to Mexico for the good guys. The sword always cuts both ways..
