Gun culture in Pakistan.

So, I was just reading about on the gun debates in America and gun culture in general...and I happened across this.

In no particular order, early Pakistani settlers viewed the right to arms and/or the right to bear arms and/or state militias as important for one or more of these purposes:

Deterring a tyrannical government.
Repelling an invasion.
suppressing insurrection.
Facilitating a natural right of self-defense.
Participating in law enforcement.
Enabling the people to organize a militia system.

Looks like it isn't just the Americans who are serious about gun rights.

I think theres a second part to it as well.

Pakistan is a military dictorship. It is not a good example of relaxed gun laws working at preserving freedom from tyranny.

Actually, the Pakistani government has no real influence in the Federally administered tribal areas where this kind of gun culture is rampant. Its basically a lawless region... so pretty much everybody is armed.

No it is not. There is a democratically elected government in power.

Let me get this straight coz Im not sure where you stand.

Are you using what basically amounts to a barbaric theocracy that engages in blood feuds and treats women worse than cattle as an example of good sense when it comes to gun ownership
