Strange Hollywood perspective on Guns and Viloence.

I was thinking about how Hollywood is a very liberal, anti-gun crowd, but they love to demonstrate in most of their movies scenarios where the bad guys have the guns and the population having none, and it is never a good thing. This creates a scenario where the poor/middle class masses are preyed a pond by the bad guys, living in fear and worst, acceptance of their fate. We see the masses with little, but the bad guys having the ability to take from a very large number allowing them to greatly prosper.

The rich don't have guns either, they have private security that protects them everywhere, forcing the bad guys to prey on the helpless masses. So the rich get richer and live a life of luxury with no worries and the bad guys live the same life style, until the hero of the story comes into play.

Boy do they paint these great pictures... such as the poor guy that gets the ill-advised loan from the shark to pay for his mom's medical bills. Then he can't pay it back, so they break his legs, put his daughters into "service" to pay for it, or just kill him outright to show everyone else what happens if you do not pay. In all these movies I would think that if the guy actually had protection when they came knocking with their big guys with bats, what would happen? What would happen if as they came into his house he opened up on them? What would happen in these movies if the population was armed and was willing to protect themselves... the old lady with a shotgun can be a formable force to reckon with...

We do know that in real life there are no heroes, but there are still bad guys and this view of Hollywood is very interesting, a view from people who are extremely protected every minute of the day, extremely isolated from the masses, from the undesirables...etc. They are the ones in the films that live in a utopia bubble where everything is great ALL THE TIME.

They live this way and for some reason they feel the rest of the masses don't need this same protection. They also feel the masses don't need to protect themselves...no need at all...

So this makes me wonder if we removed all guns if society would not evolve into the bad guys having total control over the masses as the rich live in their fortresses. With many of you that believe America would be a better place if all guns were banned I also wonder how much protection do you experience right now from your neighbors having guns and the bad guys just not sure who has them or not, and so YOU are experiencing the same level of protection from the bad guys as your crazy gun owning neighbors do.

There will be interesting times in the near future as some states adopt extreme gun control measures while other states keep the 2nd amendment intact. I will be very interested in watching if those states with extreme gun control measures start to resemble the typical Hollywood scenario of the masses with no protection at all and the bad guys seeing THEM as easy pickings while the rich invest in private security that carry ARs with 24/7 protection.

So many so-called "successful" actors are truly dumb as a box of rocks. They don't really have much depth to their thinking, but because they have made lots and lots of money off average folks that enjoy being entertained by their movies, they somehow get the idea that their words hold more weight.

I can just about guarantee you that some of their security entourage are packing. There are probably armed guards by the dozen at their homes, their children's schools, and places where they speak. They never stop to think that others in society have the same security concerns, but cannot afford hundreds of thousands of dollars for it. We, too, have the right to protect our homes, our children, our property, and ourselves.

They are just like the Big Politicians. They live in a bubble and fantasy world with someone else providing the security for themselves and their families, yet they dictate and preach to the rest of us about gun control.

I would like to see the likes of Harry Reid or Susan Sarandon spend a couple of months in the real world.

I agree with you. One thing that I have noticed is that an increasing number of people believe the actor's words over those who are experts on the subject.

Most of Hollywood is Capable of Good things like charities, and Helping People after Disasters, and Children with Incurable Diseases. But There is another side of Hollywood that Most People are Not Aware of, The Darker side. When I was Young I always Thought Hollywood was For the Rich & Famous, But Later on Finding Out that was Partly true. That Hollywood was Controlled by a Force Bigger than most People are aware of. Yes they Represent Good & wonderful Charities & helping all and a Democratic Illusion that they will Help in Times of Need and They do. BUT the Underside is that these STARS are into Themselves and their own profits and to make more Money. But are influenced into a Direction that they themselves might not agree with so they go along with the Program because they are being Paid so they do it. Hollywood is Controlled and I know that most of you are aware of this. But when Our SO CALLED GOVT. wants to Impose Something Like an Opinion They use Hollywood to Get it Rolling, So these same Actors whether they agree or not Go along with it NO Matter What. It's nice to think they want to Help But Unfortunately that is Not the Truth. The Powers That Be Run Hollywood and Only Show what TPTB Want. Just a Thought for All.

Anyone who listens to an actor talk about anything but acting like their opinio matters should have their head examined. Just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean you are an expert on politics.

Makes me laugh as they pat each other on the back saying how much they care, as they eat their 500 dollar lunch and their bodyguards stand at the ready....

"The Power" you speak of feel that the average American is stupid and needs to be herded as sheep, needs to be told what or what not to do, need to feed us and wipe our bottoms. Hollywood is so smart, so knowing...just like their politician friends....
