The salt domes here in Louisiana and specifically the one at Bayou Corne have had radiation show up in them and it has been known that radioactive
waste has been disposed of at some of the domes. I remember reading such at our local news websites and perhaps ene.com (?) as well.
We had a wintery mix...sleet/rain/snow here in parts of Louisiana around the same time as Arkansas and I thought it quite odd that some of our local
news websites had articles like I've never seen before. They mentioned that if one has to be out or gets caught in the mess, to make sure and be
covered well with boots, rainwear and such. Then shower immediately once you are home. Not to touch the stuff. Not let the kiddies ingest it and so
on. The warnings seemed unusual to me. I wish I had known how to keep the info. We've had wintery mixes here before but never saw warnings about it
and to avoid skin contact with such and all of that. May be nothing or have nothing to do with the Arkansas dealy...just seemed odd to me is all.
Many of the salt domes have been used for disposal of various nasties and not just from the oil/gas companies. The process of fracking itself, does
use radioactive chemicals that can pass into the water systems, air and so forth.
