Don't go on forums to read about meditation. Start here : scholar.google.com There you'll find plenty of research on the topic. When you feel you know enough, sit down and let it happen. And, try to keep your gods out of the equation. Everybody knows that you don't gain knowledge from meditation, but wisdom. Knowledge is from a book, wisdom is from reasoning and living.

Also, meditation is easy. It's just a matter of getting your brainwave-patterns in the correct state. It's as harmful to the body as dreaming. Or might I say beneficial. Because you can read plenty of scientists who found good effects from meditation. In controlled experiments without superstition. Don't poison your mind by claiming meditation is something that it's not. If you try to conjure too many things into the meditative state, you might risk closing the door that leads to somewhere incredible.

I'm with others who say be cautious of mirrors. i don't know if it's from watching too many horror movies but - doing any kind of magic or meditation in front of mirrors freak me out. It's almost like a mirror is a portal or maybe it's more psychological and you'll see a reflection of something you don't want to see. It's not something I play around with.

I am not saying that this is 100% what is really going on, but that it's what I know.

The faces over your own face are other lives you've had. Make sure you check to see what you are wearing as that may change as well. If the face is off to the side, then it's a ascended master, guide or spirit that is near you.

The best way to do it is in a dimly lit room. You need to look at yourself in a large mirror but not directly at yourself. View only through periphery.

A room dimly lit (as if by a single candle) creates a scrying mirror effect. Scrying mirrors were used by Nostradamus and the greek oracles. Raymond Moody used a similar method to come up with the psychomanteum which he details in his book "Reunions: visionary encounters with loved ones". He claims a very high success rate for people to have an experience with a spirit.

In case you think it might be cool to own a psychomanteum, it does require a rather large mirror (6' x 8') and a rather large room with lots of black fabric.

Star, because I was doing this just last night...I will try viewing myself out of my peripheral.

It would be wise to do a banishing ritual of the pentagram afterwards and and invocation of the "holy angels" beforehand

When your body doesn't get enough sleep it will release '___' to stimulate waking dreamlike experiences. If you're body is doing this you need to get help because it can be dangerous to go so long without proper sleep. We sleep for a reason although it does appear that for many the required number of hours is getting lower and lower. This may be part of awakening and ascension to the next level or vibration of consciousness.

On an alternate note staring into a dark mirror or bowl of water is called scrying and has been used as a form of divination for a very long time. Either could explain what you saw if it occured at night.

I cannot understand all you say, but George Harrison describes his experience , which I believe you have a quite deep understanding of , from your own experiences.

I only experienced this once many years ago whilst meditating on my own reflection in a mirror.

No bull dust I saw me , in so many guises, so many age groups, so many levels of innocence and pure evil.

The mirror was like a guide to my souls journey.

Like a video game at the time.
But it haunts me, the numerous faces of me.
What is this all about?
The mirror of the soul?
Or the mirror of demonic possessions ?

Actually, from what I've read (alot of it from reliable sources, one of them being Sagans Awakeniong the Third Eye) it is many things. One could be your spirit guide, who is there to help you, and the others could be your past lives (if reincarnation is actually true. Personally, I don't believe it is.) and some could even be what are called energy parasites (a misnomer, actually. They only feed off of bad energy. They clean ones energy in exchange for survival. Its a mutualistic relationship.) All have faces. To tell the truth, itr could be many different things, and none are eviul, or bad, or harmful. Heck, you might even just be seing things or memories from your past.

Who knows?

The art of divination by mirror is an sncient type of divination by scrying called catoptromancy or enoptromancy.

it was once a widely held belief that demons, Lillith in particular, could enter and possess those who stared in mirrors for too long. Mirrors and Lillith have long been associated with one other in superstition and mythology.

Also, covering mirrors in a home when someone in the home dies is common practice in Judaism and from that, superstition has sprung up outside of Judaism that if a mirror is not covered when someone dies in a house, their spirit may become trapped in the mirror.

Finally, folklore states that if a young woman gazed in a mirror long enough on Halloween, she would see the face of her future husband or a skull personifying death if their fate was to die before they ever married.

There is much more mythology, folklore, superstition, etc., related to mirrors and mirrorgazing. There is the positive and the negative...it's up to you to decide how you feel about it.

Mirrors are freak'n spooky!

I only have one in the house .. the bathroom mirror .. because it is necessary.
I don't decorate with mirrors.
And NO WAY would I ever scry with a mirror. That's asking for trouble.

My mother decorates with mirrors.
When I visit her overnight I'll put towels up over them and dab with holy water.
(she lives in a 200 year old haunted house .. the mirrors are 'over the top' spook wise )

Eisoptrophobia or Catoptrophobia ?? Maybe.

But I've seen enough 'Ghost Stories' or "Paranormal State' like TV shows to know
that spooks do indeed come through mirrors. ESPECIALLY when invited by
people scrying with them.
