You can mock all you like, this was in the scripture in the OP, and here it applies perfectly.

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Isn't it amazing how those that consider these things to be foolishness are left in the dark.
Where's the ark of the covenant? Don't know.
Where's the holy grail? Don't know.
Where's the body of Jesus? Gone.
Let god reveal himself by healing an amputated arm. Oh no, thou shalt not tempt the lord thy god.
Let god prove himself to man. Oh no, it is man that must prove himself to god.

At every turn an excuse is given for this god. If I were a believer I would be pretty fed up with all the excuses.

Good thread you linked, and it could be a possibility, but like I said, all understanding comes from the Spirit. If I am meant to have knowledge of such things it will be given to me when He wills it.

My focus will remain on Christ and the path he puts in front of me.

Isn't it strange how whenever someone needs something clarified by "the Spirit", it ends up being clarified by the guy who takes your Sunday donations?

Hey, god needs money too, and LOTS of it! That's why the church plays with the stock market, god has to pay his rent somehow.

No, no, no...he's getting back all the money he keeps losing on his bets with "Satan". Isn't it obvious? They are both fanatic gamblers and avid observers of the religious wars on Earth!

I bet it went something like this:

God: "I bet I can make more of an impact on Earth than you can!"

Satan: "Nuh uh! I bet not! Just watch when Adam and Eve come around!"

And thus, god ended up losing his bet and owing Satan money.

HA! "God" made that money back when he bet "Satan" that he could make his followers sacrifice each other in his name. Or more to the point, he could make them sacrifice their own children. "Satan" didn't think he had the testicular fortitude, but when Abraham showed up, he had to concede the point.

Nobody knows better than "God" how terrible a gambling habit can be. He lost his planet and half of his followers because of his.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$

That...was highly entertaining. I particularly enjoyed the "666" touch with the winning cards. That whole "card game to determine intelligent design" idea is certainly more plausible than the version everyone grows up listening to.
