Yeah you can make a shape out of anything you want, just like people do with clouds. I often feel this way about numbers too, people can make any number fit any theory they want and then they use this as "evidence".

I agree. Not trying to be funny but if you let your imagination roam you can clearly see a rabbit and elephant in the image. Humans attempt to find order in chaos I think this is whats happening in this photograph.

Hey cool! I want a Mars Sketchbook! Can I get one at amazon.com? What animals can you find?

The statue is actually someone who refused to stop and ask for directions. The martian rabbit symbolizes Bugs' encounter with Marvin. The elephant, well, you know what party got elected this year. This is fun!

Its sad how people can look at anything and instantly think that its proof of something. The image is obviously doctored, its not all that hard to do, anyone fairly good with ps or PSP can do it.

I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!

theres been all this hype about area 51 and secret deals with aliens etc....

maybe nasa have a deal with the martians not to tell the world that life exists on mars in exchange for super high tech space weapons to use in americas gradual invasion of the world, and this guy has used his tasco teloscope and tesco value disposable camera to take some pictures of mars himself, and accidently stumbled accros what the US government and the aliens don't want us to see!!!

maybe i need to put my bong down from time to time, what do you think??

I truly wish there was real evidence of present or past civilizations on Mars.To see real evidence would be so exciting. The sad fact is that I'm not convinced of anything artificial on Mars so far other than all the junk sent there from earth.I enjoy looking at the high resolution pictures taken by MARS EXPRESS.It seems to me that if there really is any proof of a past civilization on Mars they would surely show up in these excellent pictures. So far I haven't seen anything.

Just LOOK at the blind cynicism infecting these guys.

They must think it's outrageous that Life comes from Life, eh?

Outrageous that our human forms and DNA-patterns may have come from somewhere else closeby?

Such ignorance and blindness is pathetic. I'm sorry you can't see your own faces in the mirror.

That rabbit really sticks out, I think you should send in the rabbit findings to the site the originals came from and see what they can explain from that.

To the other part of the topic about trippy things... check these out.

Count the people, wait a moment, then count again.

This one just messes with my head. After a few seconds, expect a mild headache

These both are from www.ebaumsworld.com

Here is one like the A & B illusion. There are only 3 colors in this picture.

It's impossible to take pictures showing any smaller surface details.
Distance is just too great.

We cant really disregard finds like this until more powerful telescopes become available and the site is photographed again. Remember that statues look like statues from the air too

Hi folks, I'm new at ATS and this is only my second post. Nobody seems to take notice of this picture I found a couple of weeks ago:

origin.mars5.jpl.nasa.gov...

I'm not talking petroglyphs or shadows or Photoshop "enhancements", the only interesting shadow is the one around the creature's neck where the collar is clearly discernible. That guy is on more than twenty frames from SPIRIT, taken by different cameras from different distances and angles. The eye of the beholder doesn't even need to be sharper. Zoom in on the head (in the top right corner I see the torso and head of a creature wearing a pressure suit and breathing apparatus. The goggles have clamps that fix them to the soft helmet, a pretty outrageous characteristic for a stone! Shoulder width would be about twenty inches and judging by the back of the head he or she look humanoid to me, the breathing apparatus being responsible for the primate look.) Take a good hard look and come back to let me know what you think. Also, take a good look at the top left corner of the same pic and let me know if you can see the containers, one empty and two holding large - presumably oxygen - bottles. Some of the bottles are in the process of being stacked between the containers. I'm experimenting with JPEG Enhancer to get rid of the format's drawbacks.

I'm curious.

Say what? You're completely off base with that explanation. The object in the upper right corner is clearly a sea lion. Obviously on the prowl for Martian Herrings.......red ones at that.

Well, I'm shocked and amazed, N.A.S.A. actually releasing a photo of a very interesting ROCK.

If you have a look at the light and shadow elsewhere in the pic, you can see it's the way the light is hitting it that makes it ALMOST look like something else (if you squint hard enough).
