When you think of a government being overthrown, you usually think of some developing nation being conquered by a rebel army very frequently backed by
American interests. But how often do you think that the U.S. could be in danger of such a thing? Sounds like something out of a political thriller
movie.
Well, in 1933, there was a cabal of very powerful business magnates and moguls. Among them was a name that might be familiar. Prescott Bush. The
grandfather of George W. Bush. The father of George H.W. Bush.
Well, this cabal wanted nothing more than to overthrow President FDR and replace his "New Deal" type policies with a fascist agenda. Well, one of
the men the cabal enlisted to help this plot, a man named Smedley Butler, went to the press. He named names, provided evidence, and so on. They put
the plot on hold after this, and the Corporate owned New York Times declared it a hoax. Well, come 1963, they got around to it. And in a more subtle
way, they got around to it with McCarthy and subtle implementation of fascism in a hundred creeping insidious ways. A wise man once said "When
fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag". Rather insightful.
