New York bomb suspects had "terrorist encyclopedia".

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Police arrested a New York City couple in their apartment on Saturday after authorities investigating a credit card theft found a highly explosive compound, bomb-making manuals, a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition, officials said on Monday.

Morgan Gliedman, 27, and Aaron Greene, 31, are being charged with two counts of suspicion of criminal possession of a weapon, for the shotgun, court documents show.

One sheaf of papers found in the apartment had a cover page that read "The Terrorist Encyclopedia," according to court documents.

So the police are investigating a "credit card theft"? Seriously? When is the last time that the police got involved over a stolen credit card... I can answer that, never.

So the girl is from a well to do family and the guy is a Harvard grad...

Somehow the police also determined that the one suspect was part of OWS and held views that were "extreme". How did they make this determination?

Something is off in all of this.

Yes and TPTB killed them to shut them up thus stopping major changes.

Well, we all know how MLK's role model, Gandhi, felt about guns:

I couldn't help but notice the inflammatory and propagandist language of the Reuters story: a "cache of weapons" is a flare gun and a shotgun and some (perhaps empty) magazines? Gee, the Anarchist Cookbook has been in and out of print for the last 40-something years and I've seen it on bookshelves only yesterday. The printout referenced in the article looks like the internet version of that book, or perhaps the Improvised Munitions USArmy Field Manual.....

One has to wonder what the "probable cause" was - maybe they bought the HMTD using a credit card

You're right, OP.....the police never investigate stolen credit cards. The card is invalidated by the issuing bank and they usually eat the charges, which are written off at tax time.

I think the "stolen card" story is to cover the fact that these people were on a watch list due to their involvement in OWS. Seems like this is a shot across the bow for people who might consider ways of making their displeasure of the government known.

...To cops, Greene appears to be living proof that going to Harvard does not necessarily make you any less a knucklehead...

That's precious. Junkies with terrorist manuals, a weapons cache and home made explosives are just "knuckleheads" with "a twisted sense of what constitutes cool." They're spinning it that the cops don't believe they had any intentions of commiting terror attacks. They're just, you know, knuckleheads.

Next false flag foiled by accidental arrest of the hired perpetrators?

She had not been charged with stealing someone's laptop, phone, wallet and credit cards in February 2012 but received pre-trial probation for drug possession from an arrest five days later. The lenient treatment was probably due to having influential parents but charges can also be held in abeyance for a specific reason for a drug abuser, to compel them to act as informer or give testimony, for instance.

You would think Bloomberg would at least get an anti gun or anti OWS sound bite in. Instead his police are assuring the media, "These are high class junkies, not terrorists."
