My friend is in Grenada and felt a quake! There's another one, or tremor or whatever, right now! She fell and busted her knee and things are falling. She is too drunk to go outside. Is anyone else in Grenada or Venezuela feeling this that can give me some information?

Do you know if it's normal to have a 6.2 and then five hours later to have the 6.0 ? I always thought tremors or what-have-ya were closer together. My poor friend is from Florida and is new to Grenada. She is a bit freaked out. I have no advice for her.
We are used to hurricanes and we party like rock stars during them.

Only one quake showing but 6+ isn't terribly unusual for the area of this one.

Ahh okay. Thanks for the link. It was worse for people to endure moderate quakes 50-60 years ago it appears LOL.

One of those two seems to have been in New Zealand.
It is not at all unusual for quakes of this magnitude to occur in various places on the planet in a narrow time span.

There is only the one quake listed as a 6.0 in that area from what I see.

I was not reading it right at all. I associated the red text to be the same area. So would aftershocks be expected after an EQ like this? If so, do they happen close together? Would there be a way for me to see if there is a Tsunami warning? Or is this EQ too small for that?

A DESTRUCTIVE WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI THREAT DOES NOT EXIST BASED ON
HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA.

HOWEVER - THERE IS THE SMALL POSSIBILITY OF A LOCAL TSUNAMI THAT
COULD AFFECT COASTS LOCATED USUALLY NO MORE THAN A HUNDRED
KILOMETERS FROM THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. AUTHORITIES IN THE
REGION NEAR THE EPICENTER SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THIS
POSSIBILITY.

THIS WILL BE THE ONLY PRODUCT ISSUED BY THE PACIFIC TSUNAMI
WARNING CENTER FOR THIS EVENT UNLESS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
BECOMES AVAILABLE.

Hahah we were Skype drinking before all of this went down LOL. But I guess St. Georges is in panic mode and the streets were full of people. Likely drunken students.

A 6.0 can really rattle your cage and do damage. Not surprising that people would get scared.

hmmmmm

As a major quake survival strategy?

I'd think that having all one's faculties available for problem solving would be more logically astute, Phage!

Realize there are those who seek anesthesia from the stresses of daily life and poor ATTATCHMENT DISORDERED RELATIONSHIPS . . . however . . . alcohol never washes troubles away . . . it only irrigates them.

. . . the alcohol counselor part of me just couldn't walk on by that one . . .

Well OK 30 odd years but it only seems like a few to me.

Star Sir! This modern fad for binge drinking is a real problem. Getting drunk is NEVER a good thing.

(Phage you should be ashamed for saying that especially at your age.)

Good it was this deep though. I don't see possibility for tsunami. No news yet about this one. Its weird its not in any news yet, 6.4 is really strong. Its not even visible in AUTH earthquake map yet.

There was 3.4 magnitude aftershake
