Syria still in 'control' of chemical weapons: Russia MOSCOW: Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday that the Syrian regime was still in control of chemical weapons stockpiled at several locations in the conflict-ravaged country. "So far according to our information, which correlates with Western data, the weapons are under control," he told journalists as he flew back to Moscow from an EU-Russia summit in Brussels, quoted by the Interfax news agency. "The Syrian authorities have concentrated these stockpiles in one or two centres. Previously they were scattered around the country," he said.
MOSCOW, December 24 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian Defense Ministry denied on Monday media rumors about sending commando units, air defense systems operators and military equipment to Syria. “No decisions to send commandos on board Russian warships [to Syria] have been made,” Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov told reporters in Moscow. He added that Russia had not sent air defense systems operators to Syria either. “It’s all nonsense…and media speculation,” Antonov said.

Iran: If west attack Syria, crisis would not be limited to its borders.
* Iran and Syria have a mutual defense agreement
Russia and China warned NATO not to invade Syria.
*they are fast modernizing their armies. China just releaed it's first Airplane carrier, Russia just relesed S500 System capable of making US ABM (missile shields) obsoloete.
Attack on Syria could mean WW3. All of you spoiled brats who justify US 'humanitarian aid' into Syria are a waste of oxygen.
The 225,000-sailor People's Liberation Army Navy already operates more submarines than any other Asian nation, with up to 10 nuclear-powered vessels and as many as 60 diesel-electric subs. It boasts almost 80 destroyers and frigates — more than a dozen of which have entered service since the 1990s — along with hundreds of smaller craft and support ships. China's second-generation, nuclear-powered Jin and Shang class submarines are considered just a notch below cutting-edge U.S. and Russian craft. The diesel-electric Yuan class boasts a Chinese-developed air-independent propulsion system that allows it to remain submerged for weeks, while Chinese Luyang destroyers and Jiangkai missile frigates incorporate stealth features and a mix of latest-generation Chinese and Russian weapon systems

Question for all those people that whine about the U.S. always getting into other countries business: If Assad or someone else started using some of these chemical weapons in mass would you want the U.S. (having the power to stop it) to just stand and watch?

YES I would fu*king want to see that! If USA were to invade Syria US will most likely bomb hospitals and kill civilians again just like in Lybia; And then CNN and other MSM will come with false witnesses claiming the US saved them. Are you that ****** to think that USA is caring for Syrian people? You are either acting, or you are in fact the most un informed and the most naive human on this stupid planet that i had pleasure to read from.
Now go to slaughter you sheep. Baaaaaaaa

It suites you well putting words I have never said / wrote. Your knowledge regarding Syria is offensive and you should avoid all threads regarding Syria, since you have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about!
US, SA, UK, France and Turkey are the cause of civilian casulties in Syria! The only way to stop killing of innocent civilians is to stop US, SA, UK, France and Turkey from suplying terrorists in Syria who are killing innocents.

You are wrong.
You have obviously failed yourself here. The best way to make it better is to accept the fact that you are wrong and realize who is creating (training, funding and supplying) terrorists!
... Otherwise, keep on taking seriously MSM BULL#.edit on 27/12/2012 by Fichorka because: (no reason given)

Washington (CNN) -- President Barack Obama has signed a covert directive authorizing U.S. support for Syrian rebels battling President Bashar al-Assad's forces, U.S. officials told CNN on Wednesday.
The secret order, referred to as an intelligence "finding," allows for clandestine support by the CIA and other agencies.
WASHINGTON — A small number of C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey, helping allies decide which Syrian opposition fighters across the border will receive arms to fight the Syrian government, according to American officials and Arab intelligence officers.
The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the officials said.
Rebel sources in Hatay told me last night that not only is Turkey supplying light arms to select battalion commanders, it is also training Syrians in Istanbul. Men from the unit I was embedded with were vetted and called up by Turkish intelligence in the last few days and large consignments of AK-47s are being delivered by the Turkish military to the Syrian-Turkish border. No one knows where the guns came from originally, but no one much cares.
Syrian rebels are being armed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, The Independent has learnt, in a development that threatens to inflame a regional power struggle provoked by the 15-month-old uprising against the Assad regime.
...
However, three weeks ago, members of the loose assortment of rebel groups that comprises the FSA said they had received multiple shipments of arms including Kalashnikov assault rifles, BKC machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank weaponry from Gulf countries and that Turkey was assisting in the delivery of the weapons.
"The Turkish government helped us to be armed," said one member of the FSA living in the Turkey-Syria border area. He claimed that the weapons had arrived at a Turkish port via ship and were then driven to the border without interference from Turkish authorities.
PARIS — France announced Tuesday that it was recognizing the newly formed Syrian rebel coalition and would consider arming the group, seeking to inject momentum into a broad Western and Arab effort to build a viable and effective opposition that would hasten the end of a stalemated civil war that has destabilized the Middle East.
