To those folks thinking the Insurgents dont have an issue with Australians, a remote detonated bomb has apparently exploded as a convoy escorted by
the Australian Army passed, wounding two Australian soldiers and killing two Iraqis.
It has only come up on ninemsn.com.au in the last thirty minutes so details are sketchy.
It seems the soldiers were escorting vehicles to or from the Australian Embassy in Baghdad when the explosion occurred. They stopped to clear a
checkpoint.
The embassy has only been able to confirm the Australians were involved in the bombing, but not the details of casualties.
So it would seem our casualty free run in Iraq has ended. Thats what happens in wars.
