A plane carrying members of Hendrick Motorsport organization went missing Sunday en route to a NASCAR race. No further details are availale as to the fate of those on board. Hendrick owns the teams of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Terry Labonte and Brian Vickers.

NASCAR has spoken with team owner Rick Hendrick, Hunter said, but he added no other details about who was on the plane, where it disappeared or what may have preceded the loss of contact were immediately available.

"We're working very closely with members of the Hendrick organization," Hunter said. "We're just saying extra prayers right now."

Hendrick owns the teams of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Terry Labonte and Brian Vickers in the Nextel Cup Series (search).

Johnson won Sunday's race at Martinsville Speedway.

This seems to be a bad month for planes. 10 people are said to be on board. The NTSB is coordinating the search. The search is in the area of Bull Mountain, VA. near Martinsville.

Still no word as to who was on board.

NTSB has now confirmed that all 10 passengers have died in the crash.

Fox states that Hendricks son and twin brother were on board. Confirmed 8 passengers and 2 crewmembers dead.

A plane owned by Nascar's Hendrick Motorsports crashed near Virginia, killing all 10 people aboard.
Owner Rick Hendrick was not on the plane, but his son, brother, two other family members and senior team personnel died in the tragedy.
