Approximately 19:05 above Swindon,Wiltshire UK. I went outside for a cig and glanced up to the sky to check out the stars amidst the clouds, in a matter of a second or two I see a long strip of light, flash then disappear. There was no noise, the streak was not white but more yellow. It was heading 'north'.

Just wondering if anyone else seen it and how far away it had been seen. Hopefully get some replies.

Thanks for reading.

Its the Gemidid meteor shower. It supposedly peaked on friday night but no doubt they can still be seen now and again for a little while

Yeah I thought it might be. Just this one was a little bit bigger than the others. You know, the kind that makes you look twice. Thanks for your input

I know what you mean. I watched that huge one that broke up above England back in September.

I was at a camping site with friends near Berwick, it was pitch black, the sky's were very clear and you could see the Milky Way. We were all looking at the stars when all of a sudden we noticed this very bright greenish light appear from nowhere and fly across the sky and when it started to break up we realised it was a meteor, it was probably one of the best things I've ever seen

Exactly. It was something else. I've seen the Geminids many times before, but not were as big as this. Amazing sight it was, won't ever forget it.
