How To Deal With The BBC Harassment

In this 21 mins of footage you see these 2 guys stop and prove the warrant to enter their property to search for a TV issued is not law, and as you see, the police sergeant starts to see it from these guys point of view as they explain the law to him and the BBC License enforcers, and the sergeant actually walks away looking confused about his job.

Kudos to the Sergeant for being calm and professional throughout. Although he is incorrect in his statement that you must have a TV license if you own a television. This is patently untrue, the license is ONLY required if you watch television as it is being broadcast.

I love seeing videos of these Capita buffoons getting sent packing with their tail between their legs. It's a growing trend in the UK that people are asking questions about the BBC and the "license fee."

Indeed you do. Even if you had a TV that was physically prevented from receiving broadcasts by the BBC you would STILL require a "license" (which is around $230 USD, £145 UKP) per year. The language is such that the reception of BBC specific broadcasts is not stipulated, merely that the BBC reserve the right to make and amend the T&C's of the license.

Sounds absurd, but up here in canada, bell and rogers "own" a lot of the infrustructure that carries the internet, and that allows them to hold monopolies on it, we have to pay for data usage, so I can't really say much about absurdity I guess

I thouroughly enjoy these videos have lots of brit friends and they show me ones they have filmed themselves taking the piss outta the BBC cable guys and I always find myself laughing how you can have people try to force you to pay for a service you may or may not use. Even though we get robbed by SHAW every two months to the tune of a couple hundred bucks I am glad to know if I don't want it I can get rid of it feel bad for you poor fellas getting harassed over there LoL

Actually, a significant portion of the licence fee is to support the maintainence of the UK's digital terrestrial broadcast network, which is managed by the BBC, and subcontracted to various companies. Its not just to pay the BBC to make programs anymore, nor was it ever really just for that either. Its a common misunderstanding.

I have never paid for a tv license and never will, its a good job my brothers friend knows a lot about law and legislation. i have seen a few of these vids on youtube and some are very funny....
The BBC thinks we are stupid enough to pay for them to brainwash us then they can think again...
