New US SF weapons

What do u think of the XM8 lightweight 5.56 carbine??? or the XM109 25mm cargo round??? heres a link Special Forces Weapons
I think the XM8 is really promising. The m-16 has been ready for retirement for too long. Just post your thoughts.

That thing is the lamest looking gun ever, i'd expedt to find it on the likes of BuzzLight Year

If you will remember, the M-16 was not exactly accepted with open arms because it looked like a cheap plastic toy. It has now reached the pinnacle of it's developement and XM8 seems like an excellent replacement. It is lighter than a similarly equiped M-16 due to the polymer frame among other assets. If you think plastic is inferior to metal, let us not forget the Glock line of pistols!
I do agree that it looks a little dumb, but I hope the Military isn't choosing weapons based on asthetics. The pic is of the carbine model.Check out this
