A proud owner of several Sig platforms. Love the reliability and the quality. Combined, I have run well over 10,000 rounds through them with very few, but minor, issues. Welcome to the family!

Nevermind. I mistook this gun for another one.

I have an H&K USP.45 and I cannot help but notice the similarities of the two. The Sig is a polymer lower correct?

I think all the 229s are all metal. They do have some other models that are apparently polymer lower, I just did some googling to find that out.
Also, after a bit of closer examination, I am 95% sure I got an "Enhanced Elite" version.

I definitely didnt get the Elite Dark or E. Stainless. They had it down as a regular 229, and that is what I paid for.
Either they goofed, or were just being generous and passing on the savings.
Not positive either still, there are differences in that one also. It has the least amount of them though.

P229 is a veey well-respected pistol. Comfortable, accurate, safe, and reliable. You should notice it periodically turning misses into hits, unlike a glock.

Please watch for rust on the exterior; Sig's coating is a little rust-friendly. A careful look every cleaning will suffice.

No need to ever detail strip. Just field strip, clean, lube, reassemble. Wipe down the exterior with one of those oil impregnated cleaning cloths to combat rust.

Sigs don't share Glocks' finicky dis-/re-assembly. A monkey can maintain a Sig blindfolded. Clean it before carrying it, though it should run fine when dirty. Cleaning is more to prevent buildup of crap which makes later cleaning difficult.

Enjoy your pistol, and consider mounting tritium sights on it in case something goes bump in the night!

Thanks for the advice. I field strip it after every use, so far, each use has been at least 200 rounds.
I definitely clean the outside too, after putting it back together from a field strip.
