There's no point in trying to analyse JPEG compression artefacts, what we see in those images is not what was photographed, it's what the compression algorithm "thought" was the best way to compress the image.

Yes. Indeed. The footprints are rocks pressed by the rover.

Cannot seriously make out what this rock is. But it is an odd one. And there are other smaller odd rocks around it.

Odd Rock from Sol67 Mastcam

There is another one in the same area. Looks like some kind of plant type life fossil.

Here is an interesting rock formation from the same landscape.

Now that's an interesting rock.

To me, it looks like one of those rocks that result from the compacting of sand and rocks. As this area is supposed to have been a river or a lake bed it's not surprising and it's the type of rock that I was expecting to see in such a place.

It's also the type of rock that can have fossils.

Nice find.

A rock or structure that appears different from the surrounding.

What rock are you referring to?

I know there are so many other threads that deal with the topic of images captured by curiosity on mars.

But this one is going to be different as I am analyzing closely each and every raw image and post only the ones that merit closer attention.

To start with let me present the most amazing piece of evidence of fossil captured by curiosity. This is from the raw images of Sol90.

More will follow in the coming days and months as curiosity sends more images.

What is so sad is that with all the cameras that is on curiosity and with all the artifact - images that ARE THERE, there has GOT to be more that curiosity has to offer! The tubes alone are worth taking a little peek at let alone the most important image that has ever been taking of mars and that is the bio sprayer.

It almost seems like it is getting worse than better.

But it is important what you are doing but my interest has peeked a while ago with the incredibles!

Tubes? Bio sprayer? Could you be more specific?

That looks like the rock close the lower edge of the image. From which Sol is that one?

PS: I made a panorama with the photos from Sol 64. You can see it here.
(You need the Silverlight plugin to see it and it looks like it doesn't work in Opera
)

What if all the creatures on mars where made of soft material? Why would they have bones? Bones are an earth "invention"? For all we know, they could be slimy and have wheel-like thingies instead of legs.
They should check for live specimen under the soil.
