In this amazing video a young Leopard kills a adult baboon monkey which is it most feared enemy, only to find a day old baby baboon clinging to to the
dead monkey leg, but instead of killing the baby baboon, the leopard is fascinated by it and started to look after this baby baboon falling asleep
with it.
You have to watch the clip to see what i'm on about, it's just a nice story.
This clip is from National Geographic: Eye of the Leopard.

Perhaps the smell of the newborn brought out the mother instinct in the Leopard.
I wonder if the leopard had been male that he would have had the same response.
That would be super awkward if they had the complex thought patterns to understand what just happened and to process everything on a communication
level.
"Oh hey kid sorry... I just killed your mother... I'm your new mommy now!"
That Leopard isn't snuggling with the baboon. It's most likely saving it for a morning snack.
A cat is a cat is a cat. They play with their prey all along beating them to death.
