Psy, the South Korean rapper whose viral pop hit “Gangnam Style” has been viewed over 900 million times on YouTube, is expected to sing for the President and First Lady Michelle Obama on Sunday night at “Christmas in Washington,” the annual holiday concert held at the National Building Museum.
One carol he won’t be peforming: “Dear American,” a song about a decade old in which Psy reportedly raps about “slowly and painfully” killing American soldiers and their family members. The 34-year-old global pop sensation performed the song at a 2002 protest concert against the presence of U.S. troops in South Korea.
The performance was in response to the 2002 death of two Korean school girls, who were killed in an accident with an American military vehicle outside of Seoul, according to Korean Web site BusanHaps. The soldiers driving the tank were acquitted by a US military court.

I dont know if you've ever been behind the wheel of a M60A1 AVLB, but its pretty tough to see out of one when its buttoned up. It was an accident, and accident happen. No one got off “scott free”.
The Korean organizations who want to see the US out of the peninsula, apparently so they can welcome with open arms their North Korean brothers, decided to play the demagogue and use this incident to stir up anti-US sentiment. One of the more notorious stories that went viral on the web was how the members of Bravo Company, 44th Engineer Battalion, 2nd USID were laughing and yucking it up after the two girls were killed. The mocking of the incident, or so the viral story went, so infuriated the Korean Augmentee’s that a running brawl broke out between the two forces.
Naturally, NONE of this actually happened, but for those predisposed to believe this garbage ate it up.
So Psy rapped about his desire to kill US servicemen station on the peninsula to protect his ungrateful tookas and their families based on what any rational person would be able to see as a transparent lie from the suual suspects.
So yes, context is everything.

So if Korean soldiers accidentally ran over kids in your town, didn't go to jail, and still maintained a military presence in that town... you'd be cool with that? Don't you think Garth Brooks would sing about dead Korean soldiers and freedom fries? You don't think the Tea Party would be holding signs up with delightful racist demands to kill them?
Violent songs are ugly songs but you need to keep things in perspective here.

If it was an accident and no malicious intent or negligence was involved and my town was ten miles south of the DMZ, I would want them to stay.
Yes perspective indeed.

You know, I'd call it even if they invite Lee Greenwood to perform at the White House as well. Some balance right? One who hates the troops with an ugly passion and one who respects and almost loves the guys. That would be a fair thing.
Of course....fat chance in this life. lol
In any case we've had performers here in this country sing about killing cops, calling women degrading names etc.

But seriously, aren’t South Koreans who think like this the most ungrateful people on the planet?

Add to that a missionary being beheaded because south korea wouldn't pull out of the war.
Not a good mix.
