[2013] Veils of Terror

Nothing has changed,
The world is the same,
All that is altered,
Are the places and the names,
All that remains,
Exactly as it was,
Is treachery by our leaders,
Giving the honest righteous cause,

The end of an age,
Never came to pass,
On the scheming altar,
Are still the working class,
Man is still insane,
As he has ever been,
Self destructive hatred,
Has never become obscene,

Apocalyptic promise,
Made but unfulfilled,
Innocence and justice,
Still the victim being killed,
The guts steam silently,
In this frosty morn,
No end in sight,
To the age of scorn,

They draw veils of terror,
Across the eyes of all,
To cover thier great errors,
And expedite the fall,
The world is not ending,
There is no relief inbound,
No comet and no collapse,
Just misery's anguished sound.

Thanks for taking the time to comment SonoftheSun! I really appreciate it. This one kind of fell out of me in a rush, in response to both the brief given us by masqua, and George Osbornes recent announcements about the British economy.

Thank you very much 1littlewolf. Im not the most prolific poet on the forums, but I will contribute when the inspiration takes me to a place in my head where I can compose something worth posting.
