Well, no comments on this news. I was watching news about video-games when i camed across this. This news is from today:

This notice is all over the internet. So just google it.

You can be forgiven for thinking that unicorns only exist in medieval fables and modern-day cartoons. North Korean scientists say you are wrong.

On Thursday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the North Korea’s government mouthpiece, said scientists “reconfirmed” the location of the burial site of the unicorn ridden by King Dongmyeong, the founding father of the ancient Korean kingdom of Goguryeo (37 BC-668 AD).

The unicorn’s grave was rediscovered near a temple in the capital Pyongyang, with a rectangular rock engraved with the words ‘Unicorn Lair’ at its entrance, according to the report. The report did not elaborate on what further evidence of the royal unicorn’s existence was discovered.

Like most news reports from North Korea, even unicorns are used to underscore the legitimacy of the current regime. “The discovery proves that Pyongyang was a capital city of Ancient Korea as well as Koguryo (Goguryeo) Kingdom,” the report quoted Jo Hui Sung, director of the History Institute of the National Academy of Sciences, as saying.

King Dongmyeong’s biography is half history, half myth. As the legend goes, Kongmyeong was born from an egg impregnated by sunlight and united the tribes left in disarray after the collapse of the Chinese Western Han dynasty. His line ruled over the Korean peninsula for seven centuries until the return of the Chinese under the Tang.

The North Korean news agency does not have much of a reputation for factual accuracy. When the country’s former dictator Kim Jong Il died in December 2011, it reported a rock carving glowing brightly and ice near his presumed birthplace to have cracked “so loud, it seemed to shake the Heavens and the Earth” in mourning of the Dear Leader. While he was alive, Kim reportedly invented the hamburger, wrote 1,500 books in three years while at university, and shot eleven holes-in-one the first time he played golf (a feat verified by his 17 bodyguards).

Hmmm, not sure what to think about this one.

News out of North Korea is questionable at best, I guess.

I'll bite...especially given the forum and all. I mean, it's been shocking over the years to discover the hints and indications of the factual basis behind some legends and myths. The Ukraine has a jar with a baby, produced in the wake of Chernobyl that is a perfect, symmetrical Cyclops. 60 minutes showed that Wayyyyy back in the years following the disaster. No kidding.. a real cyclops. It didn't live long, hence the jar, but damned if that didn't stop me cold in mid step to question almost all the myths for what genes or DNA critters may still carry that can produce them..if tripped just right. ??

So I won't automatically toss out their claim..but this is the ultimate 'Pics or it didn't happen'. Pyongyang is not just on the short end of the credibility stick, I think truth is part of what gets checked in for safe keeping at the border crossing points.
I'll be open minded if they can produce more than a statement from Dear Kim and Co.

You never know tho!

The really scary part of this is the people of North Korea, many of them anyways, are so institutionalized, they believe this stuff.

I know they censor everything in NK but do they think they their people are just complete morons?

I worked at Callaway Golf for many years and met some of the top players in the world and to get one hole in one is something that ever golfer dreams to happen ONE TIME in their life.

This is not entirely an unfair question, but I think you may be missing something. This country is isolated from the rest of the world. You and I are as knowledgeable as we are because we have access to MUCH information. They have access to only the information that is allowed into their isolated, cut-off little country. As such, many generations of people have grown up in such isolation, learning only what the government wants to tell them. How else would they be able to develop critical skills like you and I?

I've read that back when slavery was legal and practiced in the US, slaves born into slavery were preferred to slaves which had been born free and captured. Why do you suppose that is?

I do see your point about isolation......but I don't think they are banned from playing golf or banned from playing similiar games amoungst themselves where all you need is a ball and a stick hence common sense would then apply when someone broadcasts a feat that is not reasonable.

Your argument is invalid.

why does it matter if they found ones from the past or not??
all they need to do is inject narwhal DNA that codes for the horn into horse DNA and bam!.. "unicorn".
ooh yeah but then again you're gonna have to find the DNA for rainbow poop to inject also.
