Good thing is that development team are so devoted to it that it´s features are way above others.

What do you mean about that? That it's a good tool for finding work or working on this platform ?

That's true 3d has some great potential that's mildly said but I still have complete awe when I see 3d artwork painted by hand not using any photograpic reference or textures at all ..

I was following a guy on deviantart he worked himself up within three years , self taught artist reading books and tutorials online from Dan Coyle and many other I was around Deviantart at the time he also started to discover Photoshop but he does everything in Photoshop .. But he has time I guess to do this many hours .

I really respect the devotion to his work that has now dropped fruits and working for EA and other big game compagnies really awesome talented guy

I have a special request. I was wondering if could sort of have two images combined and yet more. Let me explain. I want the basic image to be this image (my old avatar):

But I want the image to pop out into a 3D-like image with the shadow and everything, just like this one (an image I ripped of a Wandering Scribe thread):

But here's the thing, while I want my old avatar rendered to look 3-D-ish (with shadow and the like), I want the whole thing to be black and blue. That is, I want the background to be black, with the appearance of stone like the second image, and I want the foreground to be the circle, square and triangle image. And I want that foreground image to be like a neon blue, but standing out from the black, like the cuneiform image in the second picture in this post.

So in summary: I want the circle, triangle and square to be rendered to look like the 2nd cuneiform image posted here. And I want the background to be black like stone, and the foreground to be a neon blue.

Is this too difficult?

Oh, and I almost forgot. I want the size to be the size of the second image.

Actually, I realize that that doesn't make sense with the formatting. Let's put the square at the top, the circle in the middle and the triangle at the bottom. That might be better with the size and everything.

Idea request. I am working on a new avatar and I had an idea but not sure how to do it. The AV I am working on will have hieroglyphs in the background. I was thinking I could put phrases where the hieroglyphs were or mix and match. I cannot decide how to impliment it. Some here are obviously more creative then me so any tips appreciated.

I was thinking about phrases such as "deny ignorance". But others as well. There should be enough room for 4 phrases. Anyone have any ideas? Obviously some of the hieroglyphs are longer then this I just cut a piece out to give you an idea.

Wait.....you want hieroglyphs in the background with words superimposed over it in the foreground? If so, do you want the background a little blurry to give focus/perspective (thus obscuring the hieroglyph and not focusing on the meaning of it)? Or to maybe add a glow in to make it appear as though you are translating the hieroglyphic text to mean whatever the phrases you want used is?

If not....do you mean interspersing the english with the hieroglyphs and aging/matching it to make it look like the Egyptians were writing it in English (using stylized font, obviously)?

SOunds fun. Im busy till Friday, excepting doing maybe 1 round on a project each night (i get off work at midnight all week, barring a potential change...). But regardless, count me in.

If he would like to, I would like Sublimecraft to do mine. He'll know why once he looks at the cuneiform image. Sorry if anyone else has started on it. You can also show me what you got, though.

Edit: Actually, I'm not 100% if he created that cuneiform image. That's why I wanted him to do it.

These are the creative ideas I was looking for. I wonder if that can be done. I found hieroglyphic fonts but they are of no help as they are illegible. Yes I definitely want a special archaic looking font. I am not sure if bringing English text to the foreground and adding a glow effect with the hieroglyphs in the background might be possible?

You are definitely on the right track. I might cut out a longer section and do some examples. I probably do not have the software tools you guys are using as I use paint and Jasc paint shop pro 9. Sue me I love PSP 9. I have updated programs somewhere but it would require me to learn those tools. The majority of my specialty is editing at the pixel level. I have already redone the eye shape completely and changed colors pixel by pixel.

I also have access to Gimp although I don't use it much. I am a Fedora fanboi. All that aside it looks like there can be 5 phrases and I can put the ATS logo slightly transparent in the center of the image. There is actually a good place for it. I am still up in the air on overall color though. So much to decide.

I'll try that. Thanks. But if anyone can do what I'm talking about and make it look very similar (if not better!) to that cuneiform image, then you're more than welcome.

I wouldn't use a font. I would find the heiroglyphs i want, extract them, and utilize them.

The font for the english....there are several that come preloaded in my version of Photoshop. One in particular would likely be along the lines of what you want (although it is slightly arabian in style).

Looks like I will be home about 2 hours earlier than I thought. Perhaps that is auspicious.

Um shoot me a U2U when you get home bud. I take it from the name you are in Texas so CST? I am in DFW over here freezing my proverbial rear end off. Not sure if you mean today or tomorrow.

I looked into the hieroglyphs first and I could write in them but its hieroglyphs no one will know what it means. Unless they translate it. Is the font you are talking about iconic or written words?

I suppose the translation could be written next to the hieroglyphs almost as if its a work in progress. That's another idea. Now you got me thinking.

Threw together this sample. I have the .psd, so can change wording for you if you want to use it. I can direct you to a post earlier in the thread by Dutcheagle to help find a good version of Photoshop. That is a program I can give some mediocre advice on.

Hey...just posted. Been a killer week....

...like I said, I can give some help in Photoshop. Otherwise, I can only throw ideas out.

ETA: i just grabbed the hieroglyphics off a picture of a phone cover, then used some effects to cut them out of a stone textured layer. "Outer Glow" in a yellow set to dodge made it glow.

That last part should translate in GIMP....not sure about PSP.

OK I am not sure about what I was thinking I don't think I can write on the side although that would have been cool. You are thinking more between the lines or on the line underneath. Hmm... also it's OK you don't have to help I was gonna shoot you the base image so you see what I am working with but we can do it here. Your ideas have already helped me a ton.

Here is a sample. These hieroglyphs run vertical by the way. I am looking at effects and can download a lot of free fonts on the web. This is just something I had in PSP. I need to work out the size of the layers next. However I need to decide on a font too. So much to decide!

Whatcha think?

I like the text. Looks like Papyrus font.

The image might needs to be replaced ((i think you alluded to that).

Image size should end up at 200x445
