Try this NRE:

I wanted to add that this took about 35 minutes with Druid helping my behind the scenes, and here is what I did that made me understand better and I will NEVER have a problem again!

When you click on your "UPLOADED" photo, there are 7 signs on the top.

ONE.

A BLUE CIRCLE WITH A LINE IN IT

TWO.
An Arrow pointing to an EYE.

THREE.
An Arrow pointing to a smiley face


FOUR.
An Arrow pointing to a Cloud.

FIVE.
NO ARROW Just a universal symbol for a person

SIX.
Next to that a BOX.

SEVEN.
A circle with an X to close the window.

IF you are as dense as I am in understanding instructions (I wish I could laugh about that) If you have your picture uploaded and can count 7 symbols on the TOP Your gravy!

When you have your back ground CLICK ON THE PERSON SYMBOL AND IT WILL DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU. THEN CLICK SUBMIT.

Then when you are done with that, when you have your AVATAR open, CLICK ON THE BOX SYMBOL, AND IT WILL DO IT FOR YOU. THEN CLICK SUBMIT.

And thats it

i think i`m having a bit of a challenge getting this to happen , i follow the instructions from the thread you directed me to , however i`m on a computer using windows vista, i don't know if that's the problem, but i only get the percentage option when i go to resize/skew , i don't get the pixels option,i changed the percentages to something that looks like it will fit, then when i come back to ATS upload i try to upload and it freezes, it don't upload, but i also have the original size copy of that same picture already in my uploads its just a picture i took of myself with an eagle next to my head. i dont know if that makes a difference but i can click on the uploaded picture that is already in my uploads section,and it will make it my avatar, but it only shows half of my face , and i didnt leave it there because i thought i read somewhere in one of these threads that if i don't get the picture sized properly they will delete my account, btw i read a couple of different threads about this and i don't know if i interpreted that correctly, but certainly don't want to get my account deleted. oh and i'm only mildly tech savey when it comes operating some of the windows systems , I usually use my smartphone for all of my postings , so it is probably my lack of abilities, combined with the limited amount of time i actually get to sit at a regular computer as opposed to posting from my smartphone, and also while i thought about it i use my smartphone as my internet connection , being teathered to my computer , i don't know that makes a difference either. any help would be appreciated.

any time you are putting words in, start fresh with your own lettering.

you can make it appear sharper by adding in some dodged outer glow. you can make it appear to glow by dodging an inner glow.

I'm pretty good at skulls but kinda hard to make them Christmasy

Try reindeer horns as an add. It is subtle for Christmas, but maintains the feel of the original.

Hi Cody, I downloaded Gimp and gave it a shot and I could not figure it out at all. I read all the help and faq's. Maybe you have to have just the right brain waves to catch on to it?

And FortAnthem I have also downloaded the ones you have made for me. I really love them all I am not sure which one to use.

And snarky412 you made a great one as well... my favorite so far. It needed to be a little darker then what Zarniwoop made with his, although his is awesome.

Ok, If I'm reading you right, you have a picture you want as your avatar uploaded already. Simply post that in this thread, and we'll take care of the rest for you, no matter what size it really is.

As far as getting banned for an incorrect avatar? Hardly. If you want avatar information that's correct, ask it HERE first.

As far as learning GIMP, we have a Nice Tutorial to get you Started.

It's well worth the read, as it was created by ATS members, for ATS members. I often refer back to it when I get stuck with something. And like you, I was a complete noob at one point.
