Hello good Avatar people. I have a question if I may.

Being a print-designer I have no experience in animation, so of course my client has requested a gif to go into an EDM.

What program do you all use to create gifs? I have the full working CS6 suite. Can I use photoshop/layers?

The gif will be of a car (photo not clip art) zooming across about a 660 pixel width with some text after it (like "win this car blah blah) on a white background, so not so hard maybe??

Edit to say: not asking for someone to do this - I need to create it myself

Hey, love your avi...

Zarni is good with animated but not sure which he uses.
Same with Druid...he may use GIMP, not positive.
Maybe BFFT knows

I think most use either GIMP or PhotoShop
Hope I'm not speaking out of place, they should be along to answer or maybe you could PM them.

I have only the vaguest notion about it...but cs5 and above should be able to do animations via layers.

conversely, GIMP does it (Zarni and Druid use it)

I use flash 8, and I suck badly at it.

Set it up as your background image and put a transparent image in your avatar spot. There are instructions on page 1 of this thread on how to do this and a few transparent images you can grab onto.

Hahaha, I call everyone "fella". I'm female, too, and actually refer to myself as "a folky fella".

I agree! Would be cool if I could figure out a way to make a transformer/tree thing. Like a robotic ENT!!!

Dang, it's going to take me awhile to get used to the new version of the site. I haven't logged in for awhile due to ghastly real life issues. But, I'm back is business, so am feeling like adding to the colorful nature of this world again.
