Ive been reading alot about the US in the middle east, mainly because of the war and all. But this article caught my mind and disturbed me very much. It just bother me, the fact that US supported countries think they can do things that would be considerd wrong and awful elsewhere. Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else. But I just had to post it here. I would like to know what the opinions on this matter.

Before the Israeli state was sanctioned, in 1948, by the U.N., with the support of the U.S., America didn't have any enemies in the Mideast and the Palestinians were living in peace on their ancient lands. Now, no American is safe anywhere on the face of the globe ("The Sorrows of Empire," Chalmers Johnson); and, millions of Palestinians have been cruelly exiled by the IOF (www.un.org...).

When, if ever, are Americans going to connect the dots between Zionist wrongdoing in the Middle East and our personal and national vulnerability to terrorist attacks? When are we going to put the interests of our Republic first? When?

I've often wondered about these 2 paragraphs, and I think it boils down to our own greed. Everyone felt sorry for the Jews after WW2, but the true motive was to have a foothold in the middle east and its oil. The whole area is a mess now and we caused the majority of the problems. When people get on my case when I say the US brought terrorism to itself, this is one of those examples that I refer to. When kids are growing up and watching their family members being hurt/killed, that sort of revenge will never go away, and I don't believe there is any hope for Israel & Palestine. Or better yet, instead of blaming America, lets just blame organized religion, because while the US opened it up for conflict, their different beliefs were truly the catalyst behind the violence.

As Kofi Anan said: "ISRAEL DOES NOT FEAR THE GUN...IT ONLY FEARS THE VIDEO CAMERA...."

Perhaps the US (or better yet the UN) should post VIDEO CAMERAS at every corner in every street in every town in every city in "Eretz Israel" and keep a LIVE FEED going so that the whole world can see what is REALLY being done with US tax payer money in that country...

One thing for sure.....at least "the blinded-by-their-own-news" American Public would be in for one fat "EYE OPENING" experience.....!!!

Very well say if somebody wants to know why we are "fighting terrorism" then you better go back in history and check what this country has done to the situation in the middle east.

And yes you will have some falling in their butts defending the US policies in the middle east and then telling that terrorist hate America becomes its "way of life"

Yes we should see when terrorism started and under what kind of environment and why has become so spread and uncontrollable.

Its some good threads in ATS that covers this subject.

Great idea Amadeus, I'd like to see that myself.

People need to see what goes on over there.

I've seen a few stories about event in Israel that have annoyed me and it's not always against Muslims.

MK set to propose bill enabling communities for Jews only
