I think you give Pols in DC to much credit if you think it was strategic. It was a messy, dumb deal that got us downgraded. That said...i think we might go over the cliff and I think it won't neccessarily be a bad thing. The GOP will lose thier hostages. The middle class tax breaks and Safety net reforms...etc. will all have to be addressed stand alone and piece meal. Voted up or down.

Trickle Down economics helps the economy.

The use of the term "job creator" in place of wealthy.

It is not that it sounds dumb, but the fact that he let let the real intention slip out of his mouth. Unless, it was an intentional slip trying to give us a heads up of what was being planned. Maybe that is the only way they can give us hints is with dumb silp ups without the TPTB jumping down their throats. What would be interesting is to line up all the quotes like this one, and really see what they are saying.

I think this thread proves it can't be, while W may have earned a lifetime achievement award, the gold medal for individual stupidity HAS to be Pelosi here.

And while the US is clobbering the rest of the world combined, I'd have to say the Iraqi information minister certainly deserves a regional champion award for the Middle East
