Quote button issue.

Hi could anyone offer advice please.
Whenever I use quote button the@ symbol shows up.
And vice versa.
I have just replaced my old laptop that had a comma button issue.
This problem is driving me crazy.

you have got your keyboard settings set up wrong. If you live in the UK then you will find your keyboard settings are set to American but if you are American then you have got your keyboard settings to UK.

to change them

- click the start menu
- click control panel
- double click region and language
- set everything to United Kingdom.
- On the "keyboards and Languages" tab click the "change keyboards" button.
- Then in the box that opens up , on the general tab , add the correct language keyboard layout.
- Set the default input language to the correct language if you have to
- You may need to restart the computer for the setting to take effect.

Or you could check your bottom right task bar list, it should have a small Keyboard symbol, click and change it to you liking.

Mine always get switched to CANADA ENG/FRENCH. I default it to US to make it easier.

The language button on the task bar only shows up if you have more than one language service installed.

If you
- go to the "region and language" section in the control panel ,
- click "keyboard and languages" tab
- click "change keyboards" button
- on the general tab :
- Remove the unwanted language services

Then the language button wont show up on the toolbar and it wont ever switch on you
