New Zealand Volcano Mt Tongariro Erupting Again

Wow how sneaky! While my attention was diverted by scientists warning about Mt Ruapehu possibly erupting Mt Tongariro went off instead! Zero casualties (glad to hear) but a spectacular 2km high ash cloud. Now to wait and see if Ruapehu goes out in sympathy!

Very interesting. I was just reading an article about the other volcano possibly going active. This must have just happened not long ago.

This is the third thread in the "fragile Earth" section about this eruption.
I know the search engine doesnt work well, but how is it possible to miss current threads created in the last few hours, in the very section where the new thread is made?

Why is this more significant than the other 12 current worldwide eruptions presently going on?
