This is what you get when you have a closed source operating system.

Sure, this feature is fun, but what about the others that only US agencies and Microsoft knows about?

I think it crashes Vista 64bit systems. Seems to work fine with my version of Window 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Working fine on my Windows 95

Hmmmm... doesnt REALLY have anything i cant access from other menu's.

just looks like a collective.

what DOESN"T crash Vista 32/64 bit...? ~!!

Vista is a POS~period~!

I've heard the same thing about Vista for years.... Installed, or reinstalled it on a friend's PC... But after seeing it... I kind of like it... It's like part WinXP and part Win7. I didn't use it personally.... but in that respect, it was pretty cool.

Rant (and way off-topic): It's too bad that MS stops supporting their own products after a time.... It would be nice to be able to choose what flavor Windows we prefer... with Updates to make them bullet-proof. Some PCs cannot handle the memory requirements of the newer Windows OSs.

As ex_CT2 suggested this could be made into a script that would automatically create the folders for you. A simple .bat file would do.

If anyone wants to do this then :

1 - Open up notepad

3 - Save the file as CreateGodModes.bat

4 - create a folder called something like "all the god modes" and put the newly created "CreateGodModes.bat" file inside it

5 - Then just double click the newly created "CreateGodModes.bat" file and it will create all the controls. You can move the folder around where ever you want

i would have made the scipt a bit more elaborate but there's certain restrictions on how you can display script code on ATS.

Hello everyone - first time poster here.

The so-called "God-Mode" folder is only moderately useful because of the advanced search facilities of Windows 7 - you just start typing what you are looking for into Search and it soon finds it.

If you are of the "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" school of user, this is not for you

However, if you like tinkering with your PC and have run out of ideas for things to tweak, this is ideal!

Like many other posters, I was awed when I was first shown this, but soon tumbled that Search does the same thing if you know what you are looking for!

I've since moved onto Windows 8 64 bit, and had forgotten about this until now. Tested and works on Windows 8 and like a previous member stated, it doesn't have to be called "GodMode" - you can choose the name of the folder.

I just tried in Vista64 to see what would happen. Went pear shaped rather quick, you get a constant explorer reboot that you cant stop, so you cant do anything.

Why do i do things like that ? but all fixed now

Installed file on vista 32 bit it stops windows explorer working and I cant delete file could this be some spyware?

I did point out at the beginning that this was for Windows 7 mate

Its not spyware its a build in feature of Windows 7. Intended for use in the design Beta phase.

Trust me no spyware.
