After college, I came to live with my parents for a few years. I have had a few odd jobs like door-to-door salesman, computer repair technician, writer, math tutor, etc. but have not made much money off any of it. I have tried numerous times to start a new band. I lost some money trading penny stocks and started a nuclear technology company over in Idaho that I haven't been paying much attention to (my business partner has been working on that).

But there isn't much for me in this town anymore. So I'm going to pick up and move.

This isn't going to be one of those easy moves - I am going to be Hitching a Ride from my friend to live at his house, and I'm bringing whatever I can fit into his car. I probably won't have furniture, so I'll be sleeping on the floor... hopefully I can acquire that kind of luxury at some point or another. I have to bring my Xbox 360 and TV though, right?

The funny thing is, I'm leaving one of the most progressive states in the union (Washington) to head to Idaho, a conservative stronghold. Think of hours of mountain ranges full of ranchers, "natural" hot springs, rafting on a river through canyons, horseback riding and water skiing on secluded lakes surrounded cabins that make the fanciest houses pale in comparison.

However, there is a strong libertarian vibe and a liberal stronghold in the Boise area, which is where I will be heading, and I am migrating to see if I can find an opportunity to express myself as a writer, philosopher, musician, scientist and businessman. Sometimes being poor gives you the best motivation for success.

Maybe I'll even find new friends, hobbies and *gasp* love!!

Sounds like you're leading an interesting life, something everyone should have the right to. As you are cruising across the nation, stop and smell the air of life for me. Savor the moment and remember those who've come before. How exciting to be starting fresh!

I envy you - the ABILILTY to up and move, just like that.

I am tied into a (well-paid) career, am responsible for others (wife, kids, a nephew finding his way), and am up to my ears in property - 3 in fact which are all upside down.

I am starting to understand perspectives on success. It used to be the CLS 500 in my garage. However I am beginning to lean toward what YOU have - FREEDOM!

Thanks guys, I'll remember what you said. It will help to think about it in that manner!

I just feel like things aren't getting anywhere around here. I usually like to know what lies before me, but I figure I might as well step into the darkness this time and shake things up a bit. I love throwing fate a curve ball.

Hopefully, Night Star. I am not making much progress around here, so although I'm not sure what lies ahead for me, at least I have an opportunity to make a change and see what happens. It could be better, it could be worse, but at least it will be fresh!
