UFC 154: GSP vs.Condit

UFC 154 GSP vs. Conduit.

Here are my picks. First and foremost I have to go with homegrown talent! As we have so many amazing fighters flocking out of Canada and into the UFC Limelight.

GSP vs. Condit: GSP Round 2 Stoppage due to ground n pound (TKO).
Truly, like all MMA fights, it's anyone's game. Ring rust could play a factor. Maybe not. GSP has been training like a madman. Condit has been
training like a madman. Both trained at the same gym. Both have meticulously studied the other. GSP will have the advantage because of who he is and what he is about. Strength, agility and intelligence to workout with his team the superior action plan for tonight's fight.

Kampman vs. Hendricks: Hendricks round 1 KO/TKO
This is a tough one.
Hendricks is a one man wrecking machine and hasn't lost in 2 years. Bigg Rigg is a well rounded fighter with an incredible balance and forceful take down. He has the power to knock out any opponent that stands before him, but most likely the fight will go to a decision if no one does any damage in the first round.
Here's where it gets interesting, Hendricks' only loss was to Rick Story in 2010. Kampman just beat Story year ago and has also stopped Condit from winning. Kampman a submission genius, with decent take down defense and will most likely revert back to what he knows best, and as for Hendricks, He is an elite wrestler. Wrestling usually has the upper hand when it comes to ground work. While Kampman is a submission expert most of his fights have been won by the judges. Watch for both men to come out swinging and if nothing happens, this fight will go to a decision or submission.

Carmont vs. Lawlor: Carmont Rnd 1 Submission. Rear Naked Choke.
Francis who trains with GSP is on the rise. This Montreal native has been rising in the UFC quickly.With 3 wins in a row, Francis could be the next big star in the UFC. His takedowns are ferocious and he loves to stand and bang it out. BUT, most of his wins in the UFC have come from submissions.
As for Filthy Lawlor, he is all over the map, a TKO here a decision over there and right beside a submission in the blue corner. But if memory serves me correct he has beaten every Canadian the UFC has ever put in front of him including Jason MacDonald and Patrick Cote, who was at one time said to be the next big rising star coming out of GSP's academy. Theese two boys are going to go at it and someone is going down.

Bocek vs. Dos Anjos: Bocek Rnd 1 KO
Not much to say here, these guys are so even that their MOST CURRENT UFC fight Record is almost identical. This could be a lovers quarrel on the ground. Or someone might get knocked out. This will probably end up splitting in round 3.

Hominick vs. The Scarecrow: Hominick round 1 KO/tko
Both these guys have their backs up against the cage. Both have been on loosing streaks and there is never a better way to watch a fight other than when two men have nothing to loose but everything. Look for Hominick to come right out of the gate and take control. But if he goes to the ground he will be in some trouble, turning the fight of to the Scarecrow, though Mark's ground game is decent enough, to get him out of a jam or two. After all it's always hard to beat a Brazilian jui jitsu expert.

Cote vs. Sakara: Cote round 3 Split.
Though to be one of the new shining stars of MMA, Cote was on a winning streak until he stepped inside the cage with the Spider, Anderson Silva. While he lost that match, it wasn't due to anything Silva had done to him, because Cote was winning that fight until his knee gave out on international television stopping the fight.
Both men have almost identical career records.
Again both men have their backs up against the wall as both are nursing back to back losses. One thing to note about Cote, since signing to the UFC he has never had an easy road, he has been up against the best of the best the UFC has to offer. Unlike so many others who get to taste the sweet smell of victory through less than equal opponents. This is going to be a flying frenzy of fists fight.

GSP looks ready for war at the weigh-in...i think its safe to say he probably never trained this hard fora fight.... so GSP for the win!!

Hmm not sure there's going to be that many finishes but anything can happen. I'm not his biggest fan but its good to see GSP back.
