I can admit when I am WRONG, can you? Or should we all just jump on the bandwagon again.

I messed that up. I hit enter before finishing my post. Sorry.

In a recent thread the OP got slammed really bad.

I get the argument now. I see the point he/she was making.

Regardless of the situation public humiliation violates the 8th amendment.

I reacted to the spectacle displayed by the media. I failed to see the crack it was creating, setting a precedent.
The OP was astounded by society's mob rule influence justifying this back slide.

I chimed in and I actually see the whole situation differently now.

If we allow people of power to "open this door a crack" what will be next? throwing veggies, shackles, or let's just jump to stoning.

I have the ability to let go of my ego and pride, to not have it color my views ... straight up legality to uphold the constitution that was the argument.

I jumped off the bandwagon and admit now that I was wrong.

This was the thread - www.abovetopsecret.com...

I can admit that you are wrong in creating a thread with no content...as of right now November 15, 2012 - 6:42AM PST.

I haven't done that many threads.
It's sort of automatic to hit "enter" and instead of jumping to the next section it triggers reply... sorry again.

Well thanks
This wasn't for people to praise me either....I am not an attention seeker as some would interpret this that way.
This was solely for me to let go.... I get physically ill when I get a guilty conscience. And I feel guilty about this.

But thanks anyway ...it is appreciated.

I thought that is what happened; but I could not resist; having a sense of humor about it.

As for the content you did submit; I applaud you for coming forward and helping to make us all more aware.

Forgive yourself; learn from it and move on.

When I cross that bridge I will let you know but I have never been wrong yet so could not give you an accurate answer.

That so many people readily agreed with the ruling I lost a little faith with my ATS brethren. I'm glad someone else see's the problem with this.

Yes

The whole thread was turning to personal attacks against the OP.

So much outrage over details about the case but people failed to see the bigger picture.

Im glad you posted this, but I doubt it will change the tune of this board.. its membership.. anytime soon. THIS sort of thing is why I left last time. Not the board of the owners or the mods.. it was the membership and behavior. The constant attacks on people for merely expressing their opinion has become ridiculous. The lashing out without considering the whole story and strangling the messenger is out of control. The conversations are once again dumbed down with responses impulsively puked out without even comprehending the OP or giving it thought. Gets tedious. People here and in RL are acting like angry mobs... they dont even know what they are angry over but lash out at any chance they get.

I too initially feel .. yeah, what an idiot.. shame her and maybe she will wake up! But then rationality takes over and with a little more thought I too see the slippery slope the OP was trying to expose.

Good for you OP.. one person at a time falling off of the mob idiocy wagon at a time I suppose
Lord knows Ive had to apologize and eat crow more than once for being an ass here and in real life.. I am glad to see others dont fear being WRONG once in a while and take the steps to make someone whole that youve intentionally or unintentionally wronged. Let the OP of the other thread know.. might make a huge difference.

In an odd synchronous was you have also put a sign around your neck saying " I am wrong"... but self exposure concerning a wrong is a "sign" of maturity, reflection, introspection and being a NOT so Obnoxious chic.

Yes I agree, it's getting out of hand on some threads.
A few times I get the sense that even if someone agrees they won't post because the majority who already posted are on the opposing side. You quickly get an idea of where the thread is heading when insults start up.
A lot of people tend to make assumptions about others based on what they post or how they post it. It's kind of sad really. I saw a thread on people not reading the posts.... and that's true too. You can't argue your point if you don't bother to read others views. Also there is a way to express how passionately you feel about an issue without belittling others for their views, but it requires one to let go of their ego. (yes I saw that on another one too.)
Oh and my username was the one the I had back in the 90's on AOL. I used to be very snappy at people and I've evolved. But it is still funny to me because so many people think I'm going to be one way then come across different from what they thought originally. Of course I can be whatever I want to be.... and they can't say I didn't warn them when I turn ugly.

Yes I sent a link to OP as well.

wow I really appreciate the thread

I had to take some time away from here after that thread but I'm glad that you could see what I was talking about when there were so very very few who could get past the story itself and see.

I can understand that, people were really giving you a hard time.

Well you know I mentioned how hubby was intrigued, he really wanted to know what had me so engrossed as to ignore him. I usually spend that time with him and he was pissed. He said plain and simple it's unconstitutional even though we argued for another 20 min afterward. *takes 10 min to go get son off bus oh the irony*

What was sad was there was that moment when I was reading legal threads where I was like "Damn that person's right" and I guess most people would turn tail and hide. I can't do that, I like to face my mistakes and deal with them. So thanks for letting me clear the air.

I like the idea behind this post, OP.

I'll admit, I probrably wouldn't have the ability to admit when I'm wrong (sometimes I still struggle with it) if my parents weren't so arrogant.

They can not admit when they are wrong. As they say... they are never wrong. Because I said so. Because I told you to. I never said your cat wouldn't die, I said he PROBRABLY wouldn't die. I never told you we wouldn't get a divorce, that's a lie. Ect...

I despise it so much, It's in my conscience thoughts to avoid coming off the way they do. I never want to sound so uppedy and arrogant to other people.

See something funny.... I did this this morning.
I'm trying not to jump on "bandwagons" again but....
You just posted on that thread by Alyssa and had the same reaction as I did.
My initial reaction was "Women like you make me sick, they give the rest of us a bad name"
I didn't want to continue posting on it as I can feel a negative energy pull just from reading it.

I kind of want call myself a hypocrite but I won't.
