There is so much disinformation and flat out wrong information in this thread - but that is what I have come to expect in every thread relating to Israel. I would think most people here on ATS would have their eyes more open and not believe everything they see/hear from the MSM - And even when their reports are close to accurate, it is a tiny fraction of what really happens here.

I'm getting really tired of people tossing the G word around - It just isn't happening, or Israel really sucks at it. I think your definition of genocide and mine differ by quite a lot.. Lets consult Mr. Webster, a well respected definer of words:

Definition of GENOCIDE : the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group

If Israel wanted to commit genocide, they could EASILY do it.

And for those that try to downplay the danger of rockets coming out of Gaza, let me relay my personal experiences with them. I was in my apartment on the top floor (13th), air raid sirens went off, so my wife and I went into the safe room (steel door, steel reinforced concrete with a 1" steel plate that slides in front of the window). About 30 seconds later we heard and FELT the explosion which we later found out was a couple of MILES away... Not too long after that, a couple of women were driving in a car and hit by a rocket - both dead.

Yes, they are unguided, but the terrorists (I refuse to call them freedom fighters - more on that later) have their system down to get them close to the various cities. Some people call them fireworks... Fireworks have a few ounces of gunpowder or something similar - these rockets can have up to 100 pounds of high explosive!
Anyone who thinks that 20 - 100 lbs of high explosive won't ruin your day, is a fool. If one of these rockets lands near you, it's bad, m'kay?

Imagine these events relocated to some US border town - What would you do if your neighbors were tossing 100lbs of explosives in your general direction? I would expect and DEMAND that the military do something about it! I think most people would. I'm surprised some Israeli's aren't building their own rockets to launch back...

Luckily the city I live in has Iron Dome and the terrorists know they have a very small chance of getting past it. As a result there have been very few rockets fired at ME lately - yes, I take it personally when terrorists try to kill me...

Most people ignore, forget, or just didn't know, that the border with Gaza used to be much more open and many Palestinians used to have good paying jobs in Israel. Then suicide bombers started attacking buses, restaurants, nights clubs, etc. Israel closed the borders, and guess what? The bombings stopped. Seems pretty simple to me - neighbors dog craps in your yard, you build a fence, no more dog crap. No, I'm not calling Palestinians dogs - I'm sure there are some very nice Palestinians that want nothing to do with the violence. Unfortunately, they can't or won't do anything about the extremists in power.

Also, why doesn't anyone vilify Egypt for keeping their border with Gaza closed? Why do YOU think they keep that border closed?

Most of the Arab world doesn't really care about the Palestinians. If they did, why don't they say, "Come to my country brother, we'll take you in"? There are close to 1 billion Muslims living in Middle Eastern countries - they could easily absorb the 2 - 4 million Palestinians (Gaza and West Bank combined).
The Palestinians are just a tool to be used against Israel to try and make them look bad. They fund the terrorists in Gaza to fight a proxy war against Israel.

Words mean stuff. Learn why the ROMANS called it Palestine. The "Palestine" of today never existed before 1967.

All this being said, I actually hope a nation called Palestine comes into existence. Then when they will have to live all on their own and learn to play the game like big boys and girls. By the way, Egypt's border with Gaza isn't closed. They have tunnels. Which Egypt permits to stay open, and uses it themselves. Israel doesn't have the balls to blow the tunnels on Egypt's side into oblivion. Which aggravates the hell out of me.

Let's cut off Egypt first please. Over a billion, that's BILLION each year, to a country with a new government that's trying to kill us (the West). They will soon use this money to pull down the pyramids and the Sphinx (global.christianpost.com...). It's crazy. We are giving money directly to the royal family in order to keep them in power, which it is only a matter of time before they are going to jump a private jet to Sweden.

I am confused as to what Israel's beef is with Syria at all. Did Syria, as a nation, attack Israel? If not, who did? Surely, Saudi Arabia did not attack the U.S. eventhough 9 hijackers on 9/11 were from there. Oh, and as for Iraq, who knows?!
Anyway, with Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Lybia, Afghanistan going to hell, the U.S. will have plenty to worry about.

That's why I'm afraid that if they do get smacked down, they are going to get smacked down hard and without much ado. It's not going to be discussed, it's just going to happen. I'm shocked it hasn't happened already so maybe it won't but if it comes it's going to be hard.

I mean we already know their motive is insane but I suspect there is a very specific reason we put up with this crap.

I tend to think that some people are so aware of just how bad Israeli leaders are hated, that if we don't support them in the public eye... they're dead. We are kind of obligated on the surface to continue to say we back Israel but that country could be decimated in a very short period of time but no one takes the first swing because powerful countries will come to it's aid. The minute we say "piss off Israel, we're not fighting your war" it's game over. They will get pounced so fast heads would be spinning.

Look at how they are abusing that as much as they can!

Do they have no common sense? Do they not understand what kind of position they are putting their protectors in?

They should be arrested before they get more people killed because that is the only way it will settle down... seeing as how it is them who are throwing fuel in the fire. They are a danger to their own people and that is a crime against humanity.

Not only should we see it as though we should not instigate anyone else into bombing Israel because that call appears to be largely on us, but we have a responsibility to do something about how their abusive position effects us and effects our own security. If this continues and a large attack takes place it will even be more of our fault for not peacefully and diplomatically addressing the offensive element in this problem and that is the Israeli leaders.

Could it be that Israel is spreading outside of its borders on stolen land and shows no sign of stopping .

How many people have been killed by these "missiles" being "lobed" at Israel and how many innocent people will be killed by Israel in the disproportionate response that will probably be launched .
