Ukrainian politics are businessmen, and Ukrainian top businessmen are politics.
Ukraine held parliamentary election recently. Many businessmen distribute free food, money or medicine in order to get public sympathy.
A member of the currently ruling party, Party of Regions, and prominent local businessman Petr Yurchishin, started to build a much wanted road for his own money for a village of Rybchintsi. But the locals voted for a candidate from opposition. So disappointed Yurchishin sent graders to destroy the road he just built for "ungrateful" voters. There is a plowed field now instead.

That`s typical of politics in some countries, Brazil comes to my mind too.

Are you Ukranian? If so a little question. There was not a politician trying to make Russian the official language some months ago?

It is against the rules to ask for a personal information.
I can read Russian, lived in some different countries and speak some languages and I find that it gives me an advantage over just English speakers. You can find a lot of interesting info in non-English and non-western websites.

Yes it can be used as official on regional level now.
Russian is used by the most of Ukrainian population. Ukrainian is a half-artificial language, created as part of a plan to separate people who lived in western Russia and to create a buffer zone with Russian Empire. Few centuries ago there were no Ukraine, no Ukrainians and no Ukrainian language.
