Hell yeah Hammerfall! It, and Blind Guardian are definitely in my top three favorite bands of all time. Still deciding on my third, there probably isn't one. And good links, the first is pretty good, but the 2nd isn't my taste. Not a fan of that growling singing at all to be honest. Or any hardcore screaming/Black Metal for that matter. Whatever you would want to call it

I like Blind Guardian too actually. Haven't listened to Symphony X much but I'm liking it. Haha yeah the growls are an acquired taste. These are 'melodic death metal' is their official classification. I don't care for some of the black metal either but love the melodeath.

@GladtoBe - It's good for it's genre. But not something i'd listen to.

@Scorpiosin - Blind Guardian is just great! Symphony X isn't one of my favorites, but it's one of those bands I just listen to cause I like em'. As for the Melodic Death Metal part, I definitely see a difference, the instrumental is far better, definitely more talented players. Can't comment on the vocals seeing as I can't stand anything with growling and or screaming. Not sure why, I just could never get used to it.

I hope you guys don't feel like i'm bashing your musical taste, to each their own. Just spreading my opinion.
