Has an Atlantean Temple been Discovered in the Bahamas?

Mysteries researchers Dr Greg Little and his wife Dr Lora Little, who for the past ten years have been investigating archaeological features in the Bahamas, have this week announced the discovery of a potential new underwater site 30 miles (50 km) south of the Bahaman Island of Bimini. It sits close to the edge of the Great Bahama Bank in 20 feet (6 m) of water, and has been named Brown's Ruins in honour of its finders Eslie and Krista Brown, professional divers from Bimini who work closely with Greg and Lora on their dive trips.

If Brown’s Ruins constitutes evidence of a building structure of immense proportions, the question remains - who made it and when? As the Bahamas are only officially thought to have been occupied first around 500-700 AD, no known local culture can have been responsible, especially as the site is located on a shoreline that was submerged by rising waters some 6,000 years ago (although the structure itself could be far older, even by many thousands of years).

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Controversial and not very definitive would be my guess in the end. It sure would be nice to see more folks in the mainstream take these "finds" a little more serious. There have been many unanswered questions at sites like Bimini and the Pre Ice Age complex found a few years ago.

The Atlantis story (while possibly based somewhat loosely on an actual place) is more an allegory on ideal utopian societies.Plato was very fond of allegories, IE: the cave story, as well as at the time of the writing of Timaeus and Critias it had long since been destroyed some 9000 years prior and was a story of a story of a story translated from egyptian to how many other languages and then into greek, as well as there are no other stories of the atlanteans vs greeks ( that I am aware of) Having said that, I am a big fan of lost cultures and societies so it will be interesting to see what happens at this site. Considering some of the things they say they have found already. I do believe there are a lot of things that went on back in the "olden" days that we are mistaken about (transatlantic voyages etc).

Atlantis is a good distraction from the truth. Like the Bermuda Triangle, North Pole Nazi Bases, underwater or under volcano UFO bases. etc. All these "myths" have certain required characteristics to keep them forever tangible.

It existed a long, long time ago. Kind of hard to go back in time and see what existed there, then, huh?

Its so far removed from exploration, like under the ocean, or under ice at the earth's poles. Or under volcanoes, deep in the earth, etc.

It is so old, it is decayed to forensic bits and pieces that maybe hint at something that could be man made or natural. Atlantis is guaranteed to live on in Mythos and legend, because it has all three.

It is so old, records are vague. It is under the ocean... somewhere. And it is decayed to the point that any reef encrusted under water geologic feature could be construed to be ancient civilization. Just squint your eyes hard enough and presto...

Same with North Pole, under ice, secret, Nazi Ufo Bases. C'mon, really? Nobody is ever going to reach a firm conclusion on that now are they?

Big foot families live in a big, big forest. Yeti's bones are scattered on rocky ledges high in the Hindu Kush. And Nessie's kids swim in a deep, deep, cold dark lake filled with caves. Noah's Ark rests on a forbidden mountain ridge under a frozen glacier. God is invisible. Ufo's are cloaked.

Lets not forget the repository of all the captured alien craft, and their crews. Area 51. No one is ever going to get past the red tape or security and find the secret underground vaults that have all the glittering evidence there either. Pretty safe, I'd say.

Safe from ever getting the total ultimate proof of all these things existence. Safe in their mythos status. Forever.

It goes back to the 1970's when a scuba diver found it, swam inside it and saw a centerpiece statue of a hand or pair of hands or lotus I think, holding a large crystal in it. He took the cyrstal with him and it since disappeared.I believe it was in 1974 or 79.

Cayce believed Atlantis would rise again in 1968 or 1969, in area of Bimini, near the Bahamas.. That is where they found the underwater Binimi road...

I like where you're going with that train of thought... and if all these cultural myths are indeed distractions from the truth, what is 'the truth'? That all these mythologies and archetypes we create and indulge in are preventing humans from (more) directly experiencing reality? Or did you have something more specific in mind?

"Reality" as we call it is a quest for the truth, is it not? Not like THE truth but the day to day truth of what we should be doing with our lives. For one.

These perpetual myths serve the Paradigm well. Takes an enormous amount of time to research and discover anything about these "mysteries". All the rulers or "controllers" have but to do is periodically release some "new tidbit" of (unprovable) information about these "legends" and everyone is back for a whole new round of distraction. Distraction from what, you ask?

I don't know. To keep us from seeing the forest for the trees, maybe? To keep our noses pushed into something other than what is being done to the world around us and the people in it. Can it be nothing more than that?

Like, if I am busy watching the skies or digging a hole in the Ice, then I am not really paying attention to the world around me. If I am delving deep in the ocean or climbing the highest mountain searching for "mysteries", then I am out of the overlords hair, aren't I? They are then free to go round enslaving countries and stealing their stuff. This search for lost legends and tall tales is but one distraction they feed us.

Others might be organized religion, sports and things like TV, alcohol, whatever. And we gladly imbibe don't we?

Just a story, the empire he described would be easy to detect archaeologically - it isn't. Nope the pyramids were built by the pesky AE, if these Atlanteans built it why did they leave no archaeological trace?

Billions of years actually but at this time we are the only one we've detected. Acivilization like ours leaves a massive archaeological footprint, not to mention depletion of resources, changes in sediment,etc.

The means to discover the "Paradigm" have thus far served it. You are not powerless, so you have the choice: continue serving the "Paradigm" and live the way you do, concerned about being distracted whether it's of yourself or others, or stop serving that thing which concerns you, causes you to feel powerless. It's not like you don't have a choice. That choice is patient enough to take up your whole life.
Actually it seems there is only 1 choice...act like you don't have a choice (which will lead you back to this fork in the road), or act because you do...Wouldn't you agree?

Actually, I don't have much of a choice. I live in America. I don't have a job, a car, a bank account or a home.

But this means I don't buy gas or pollute, I don't pay tax, I don't support the Banksters either. So I am sort of free then. Free to be a part of a solution instead of part of the cause. That is the choice I have made...
